Since I am already passed tired of hearing about the dropped balls let me simply say this -

Next time bring better players.
Just respond to the ifs with one of these choices:

If Ohio State hadn't played conservatively the entire 2nd half.
If Arkansas hadn't tried to take out each of our star defensive players. (Aside from Chekwa, that wasn't their fault)
If the referees called a better game.

For every dropped pass, any of those three things could have kept the game a blowout in our favor.

Can't fault the kid for falling on the blocked punt, but if that was reversed - I'd be reliving that moment time and time and time again. Should have scored, no Buckeye was anywhere near that ball.

That close to a 1st down, I don't blame him for making sure Ohio State didn't get the ball back. If his hands failed him and he kicked the ball around instead, the chance an Ohio State player gets it increases dramatically.

That close of a game with that little time left, on a fumble, you drop on it and secure it. He played smartly. Sure it but them in the ass in the long run, but still the smart thing to do.

Oh, I agree. I'm just saying if he fields it cleanly......

But, you're right. Safe play - with 1:04 on the clock and possession well inside OSU territory - falling on the ball is not something you can point to and say "what the fuck are you doing??"

Whew-ee!!! and WoW!!!

What a game.

Told my neighbor that I was watching the game that, "no, I don't want a close game. Due to all the shit that the Buckeyes have had to go through... I want 74-7". This was at the half. There were simply to many verbal coincidences to go on about regarding last night.

Ultimately, I am happy for the players and the seniors especially. They wanted, and they got it done. Well done Buckeyes!

wow, what a game. i am really pumped that the bucks pulled this one out. however, i also feel that i will always remember this game as the one that osu shouldn't have won. they were the better team yesterday, there is no denying that. my feelings with this game result from the non-suspended players for this game. i still feel that those 5 players should have been suspended for the sugar bowl and not for any games next year. low and behold, all 5 players came up big at one time or another. it is unfair that they got to play. let's please not forget this as we celebrate this great victory.

as i said before, i am very excited that the bucks won. i just wish it could have gone down differently. :oh:

Come on, I am tired of this let it go and enjoy the win, normally I would ding you but it's a day to be happy.

I think this game is prime example about how OSU changed in they way they recruit line talent after the beat down to UF. We smashed Arky's OL, Mallet was having to elude on half of the pass plays. I think the injuries caught up to us in the 2nd half but the Buckeye found a way to win. Which is how this team differs from some of the recent ones.

That said, TP is a fuckin baller, and is a Buckeye Legend in my book. When TP run's mad, and doesn't arm punt footballs, he is very hard to stop.

Also hats off to Dom Clarke and Travis Howard. I think they played pretty well givin losing Chek in the first half. Dom didn't give up any TD's and played well in the run game. Howard was beat on just great throws by Mallet.

All in all, feels good to shut up the SEC haters.

Screw 'em all.

Keep in mind that the Sugar Bowl itself was lobbying for these kids to play all in the interests of the very money these kids are said to have no right to.

Sure, I wish it was different. But given what it is I get a kick out of the fact that not only was each of the suspended offensive players critical to the win - but the lone suspended defensive player sealed the deal.

Screw 'em all.

Forget what? That Ohio State played 5 players who were eligible to participate in the Sugar Bowl? Cry me a fucking river.

On the bright side in 5 years OSU will still have won the Sugar Bowl this year. Auburn might win the BCS now, but in 5 years it will no longer be in the record books. I find it amazing that so many people are coming down on these 5 players for making a couple grand selling things they shouldn't have sold when Cam Newton (or his dad) has been accused of taking $180K+ in order to go to Auburn. Where is the outcry for him not to play until the investigation is complete?

no shit... The OSU deal has been investigated, penalized and is closed.

Auburn still has an ongoing investigation and not one of those talking cockholes will even say anything remotely close to "Auburn could be playing with fire by playing Newton" or "maybe they should consider sitting him so they don't get the dreaded lack of institutional control slapped on them"

I finally made it through the entire game thread. Looks like most of my reactions through the night were similar to what was going on in the thread.

First of all, I'm proud of the preparation this team did. They came out crisp and aggressive and really took it to Arkansas. Jim Tressel took risks - even the onside kick that didn't work I thought was not a bad idea at the time. The commentators kept referring to the playcalling acumen of Bobby Petrino, but in the first half at least Jim Tressel's plan really had Arkansas on its heels.

I am loathe to get into players' level of motivation, but it looked to me like they came out in the second half without the same edge - as if they thought the rest of the game was going to be easy. I guess now we know what a Razorback does when you back it into a corner. They fought like hell and damn near snatched away the game. My hat's off to them for their effort.

As the afterglow of the win wears off, people are going to start dissecting the second half in particular. I've already started to see the questions of the second half playcalling, and I want to say this: The offense didn't get buttoned up by JT until AFTER the offensive line started to pucker up. JB Shugarts in particular was getting his ass whooped up and down the field in the second half, and Arkansas was setting up camp in the Ohio State backfield. Also, Pryor came right out of the gate in the second half making poor decisions with his throws, which makes it difficult to justify taking risks with the playcalling.

Field position also had a lot to do with the way the second half played out. All the credit for that goes to Arkansas' punter and coverage team. That was extremely frustrating to see happen EVERY SINGLE TIME. Great job by them. I think we may have seen a few more calculated risks in the offensive playcalling if the field position had been better.

It almost goes without saying that the defense was huge. I think people are right when they say that Cam Heyward deserved an MOP award. He was easily the most dominant player in this game. It's always fun to see a senior go out in a big way, and I'm sure he made himself a lot of money tonight. The entire defensive line played great in my opinion. Larimore, Simon & Williams were unblockable for the most part, only kept in check by rampant holding (more on that later). Heyward was not just unblockable, he was unholdable. He would not be denied.

I'm also proud of the secondary. Already thin from injuries throughout the season, several guys were asked to step into big roles on the spot and did so quite admirably. The broadcasters kept pointing the subs out, fully expecting them to get abused. Instead they held their own and then some, really only getting beat on some perfectly thrown balls that you really can't defend. The future is bright in the defensive backfield for the Buckeyes.

The refs left a lot to overcome in the second half in particular. First of all, one thing they did well - they were fair and let the WRs and DBs play. It was physical on both sides by not cheap or dirty. With the exception of the play where Corey Brown was tripped, I think they did a pretty good job in that aspect of the game. They were pretty much blind to blatant holding however and missed Heyward getting the Glenn Dorsey treatment, which is inexcusable. Two calls in particular - the so-called "safety" and the overturned DJ Williams TD were as bad as I've seen all season.

This game was fun because it was a true team effort and the ending really magnified all of the little plays from early in the game. I don't think any of us thought Barclay's 3rd quarter FG was a big deal at the time, but I hate to think of how this game would've ended if Arkansas was only down two points after the blocked punt, already in FG range. There were widespread mistakes in this game by the Buckeyes, but also widespread contributions.

Speaking of the blocked punt... Find the pages of the playbook with that awful spread punt formation, tear them out, set them on fire, piss on the ashes and priority mail them to Ann Arbor before Rich Rodriguez leaves town so he can take that shit with him back to the lousy Big East where it belongs. Seriously.

Alright. I watched every minute of the game and was still up for the awards and end of the broadcast. They always attribute other media outlets after a broadcast, and they did last night.

I thought I saw this at 12:50 last night, but wasn't real sure based on the level I was on. I went back and grabbed a screenshot this morning from the ESPN3 feed. Had to do a little MSPaint editing. It may be hard to see so I also attached the image.

Courtesies to TSUN? Yeah...
