Sugar Bowl tickets started arriving today.

A flyer regarding NCAA compliance was included with tickets.

The title is "Extra Benefits: They're Not Worth It."

An excerpt:

Please be reminded that providing a benfit or service (i.e., meals, transportation, event admission, discounts) to a student athlete or any member of his family, is prohibited per NCAA rules and regulations. Furthermore, any actions on your part (or those of your family members) deemed as impermissible per NCAA rules may jeopardize the eligibility of the student athlete for the 2010 Allstate Sugar Bowl and beyond.

Guess its a good thing Auburn is playing for MNC then not the Sugar Bowl huh?

Seniors are behind them. I'm behind them too then. Easy enough to move on.

In which your man Ken Gordon of the Columbus Dispatch talks about the distractions and their possible effects on the game:

Will the tattoo-gate issue have an effect and if so, how much and how so? What do y'all think?

Ohio State has gotten off to a lot of slow starts this year, but in this game a slow start could be a downhill avalanche. I think its important Ohio State gets some early momentum otherwise it could easily turn into a sulk/pity-fest.

Based on Twitter the players seemed to have bonded over this, the are "ready to go to war" together and are ready to leave the haters behind.

Could there be splits among the concensus? sure. But I'm confident that once the seniors voted the rest of the team will fall in place. It's an us vs the world type of feeling.

My only concern is they push too hard and don't let the game come to them. A slow start, or say a return on the opening kickoff, could be bad but I'm confident there will be talk after the game that tOSU may be the best team in the country.

Ivan Maisel's column today includes this

Ohio State returns to the BCS with one foot in New Orleans and one arm in a Columbus ink parlor. "The Rose Tattoo" is a Tennessee Williams play about a woman in Louisiana who withdraws from the world. The Sugar Tattoo is a Jim Tressel play about a team visiting Louisiana that doesn't have to withdraw its ineligible players from the world until next fall. The reviews of the ineligibility have been negative.

Ohio State will play BCS newbie No. 8 Arkansas. The Razorbacks, in their 19th season in the Southeastern Conference, still haven't won a conference title. They reached the BCS the same way that Kansas got there in 2007: they won a lot, just not enough to get into the league championship game.

Arkansas has one of the best vertical passing games in the nation and a better quarterback, Ryan Mallett, than anyone Ohio State has seen this season. If the Buckeyes come out of Inkgate with their mad on, they will win. If they don't, they will lose to an SEC team for the 10th consecutive game.
