So how do y'all think it turns out? There are three ways this can go:

1) a team united in adversity comes out with a renewed focus and kicks SEC ass all over the dome for 60 minutes to the wild enjoyment of the numerous loyal fans, rewarding those who still came to the game; or

2) a horribly distracted team with fractured unity and cohesion just mails it in - and makes the Buckeye nation have to endure a long period of Sophmoric plays on the use of the "Big-10" symbol - all referring to the number of tOSU bowl losses to the SEC.

3) no difference to speak of. This will be a great game by two good teams, and at the whistle there will be respect for each other by all who played or watched the game, which will be the best game of the BCS bowl season and overshadow the BCSCG

Man, I'm so distracted by this whole mess that I'm having a hard time getting into it and I bought tickets to be there. Can't imagine what the team will be like.

Tattoo-gate = fail. My attitude = fail.

Option 2 scares the hell out of me. So I'll take door #1

One more option I can come up with:

4) TP and the other 4 come play the game with no intention of returning to OSU next year and a nasty attitude, knowing this is a 'prove it' game to the NFL scouts in attendance, and proceed to kick Arkansas' asses all the way up the Mississippi river.

Personally, I don't think the parties deemed ineligible for 2011 should be able to play in this bowl game. It's going to be terribly awkward for fans to cheer on 4 starters who decided they were bigger than the team. Now we can get into moral and ethical codes all we want, but agreed to play college football under college football's rules. If they do play, I'd like to see a ride off into the sunset performance by the team and they can be remember as the Ohio State team that beat an SEC team.

If they don't play, I see a whole hell of a lot of rushing plays. I hope Tressel got wind of this around Dec 1st so bowl practice wouldn't be a lot of Pryor doing this, Pryor doing that. My guess is they'll have to get the backups some reps.

I saw Dane at Best Buy and congratulated him on his successes and thanked him wholeheartedly for the last four years. The topic of the suspensions came up and all he could say is "this will be a distraction for the team". In response I said "not for you" and he smiled with appreciation. He knows that this team needs to focus and will work around this obstacle. I didn't press the issue, wished him well and walked toward the door. Near the door and as load as I could say it so the guy with the Michigan jacket in the checkout line could hear me, I said:

Go Bucks!

Dane smiled and replied.

Beat the Hogs!

:osu:

Somehow the cloud that followed me around today dissappeared temporarliy and I knew we would be alright.

good attitude + focus + Dane = success in the Sugar Bowl

Gotta love Dane, I wish we had four more seasons filled with his acrobatic freak-catches.

Glad he got the MVP award this year. He deserved it anyway, but in light of the recent happenings, it just feels right.
