Game Thread Sugar Bowl: tOSU vs Arkansas, Tue, Jan 4th, 8:30 ET ESPN

For what its worth, on ESPN today, Mel Keiper, the NFL draft guru was asked which game had the most NFL implications.

Without hesitation, he listed the OSU-Arkansas game as being the most important in terms of pro prospects. He then rattled off the list of likely NFL picks and there were a lot of them. No mention was given of the championship game at all. The only one close that he mentioned was the VT-Stan game.

Should be a good one, given that so many will go to the pros this year. According to one draft board, 8 players from both colleges will be taken within the first 3 rounds - 6 from OSU and 2 from Arkansas. Not bad.

I can see it being like last year where the Sugar Bowl is the game people actually want to watch instead of the NC. (Oregon is most likely going to get blown out)

The monkey becomes a parrot if we simply beat Arky. If we happen to beat them handily, their is no animal of any kind on our shoulder anymore.

I dunno Mili, some will say that until y'all beat the SEC Champion heads up for the BCSNC, defeating an SEC team that did not win its Division won't exorcise 100% of the peskiest demons...

....but I'm sure it would be a good start.

Say what they will about not winning their division - fact is this is an at-large from the Big 10 against an at-large from the SEC. Not a stellar year for the Buckeyes (by recent standards), and it's an even match-up.

Let 'em talk. Buckeye fans with personal issues will still have them; SEC fans with little-man-syndrome will still have it. ...and those of us who are normal human beings will be back next season to cheer on our team no matter what happens.

I think the key for osu is going to be establishing the run game. I don't know much about Arky's offensive line, but I think the less Mallett is on the field, the better chance for osu.

Should be a fun game to watch. One of the few bowl matchups i'm excited about.

If we Arkie the SEC "fans" will say that doesnt count because they are an old SWC team. If they beat us it will be SEC SEC SEC. I use to get caught up in this but after last year nothing will change. I just sit back drink cold beer or Margatitas cheer and watch the games!
