I was in NOLA for the championship game in '08, I would not recommend doing that, especially if enjoy the night life. I had friends that stayed away from Bourbon Street, and they regretted that decision. Being able to walk to the stadium, casino, the stadium is well worth the added price.

The future Mrs. and I booked our flights today!! Get in at 1 on Gameday straight to check in the hotel then to Bourbon Street (unless we can score some tix) We just wanna be there for the party!! Never been to NOLA before neither hs she can't wait!!

I will be there and I may (stress on the may part) have an extra ticket or two to sell.....

Staying in the Quarter at the Crowne Plaza...I just knew those Priority Club points were going to come in handy....

We're flying in on Sunday then back on Wednesday. Staying at the Loews, which is walking distance to just about everything. Stayed at the W in 2008, was a great location (not right in the quarter, noise-wise), so we picked the best deal near there. Frenchman's Street is a bit of a walk, but the music there is great, so we're planning on going back. I'm a tad over Bourbon Street.

Also, the Cajun Buckeyes bar was near there - IIRC, it was set up like a VC NOLA. They say they will update their website as they get plans made:

My must do's this trip are Frenchman's Street for music; a Pimm's Cup at Cafe Napoleon; I hope to get to Tipitina's or the Maple Leaf to see a band; perhaps a muffelata or po boy sandwich; maybe a snack a Couchon; maybe taking the ferry to Algiers to tour the Mardi Gras warehouse.. so little time, so much food, drink, and music :)

I'm sorry, we take eating seriously. "Go to eat around the quarter" is too vague. Price, cuisine, ambience, locale, no reservation accessibility, what????

We have reservations at Herbsaint and Mr. B's for the two nights. Any recs for a quick quality bite before the game? About 10 years ago, my husband seemed to like the po boy at Cafe Maspero quite a bit, but we're open to recs - best mufalata, po' boy? We had lunch at Coops last time, and that was reasonably good. Let's see - two of us really love seafood, one won't eat it at all. TIA! :osu:
