Mods:Please move this if it is in the wrong forum.

I'd like to go to the Sugar Bowl but for various reasons I don't have a family member or friend to travel to the game with me.

Will there be a hotel of choice for Buckeye fans from BP? It would be nice to have a group to hang out with and enjoy the game and atmosphere if I end up traveling alone. TIA.

Bill, I changed your title to a general roll call for anyone traveling to NO.

Leaning towards going. Trying to get an idea on where to stay. Downtown looks like around $250/night afer parking is factored in. If you were to stay a little farther out and drive into downtown, where's the best place to stay? I'm not at all familiar with NOLA.

I'm in NOLA for New years every year and have caught most of the Sugar bowls in the past 15 Years... I spend alot of time in NOLA too.

I would be happy to answer any questions about where to stay, go, eat... and would offer ticket advice, but you guys travel very well, so this might be a harder ticket than usual.

For those looking for hotels in the area, use 300 Bourbon Street as a search address...and I would be cautious of any hotel more than .3 to .4 miles away from there.... 300 Bourbon is the address of the Royal Sonesta hotel... Very nice if you can afford to stay there, but it is in the heart of all the action...

One of my favorites is the Iberville Suites... Rooms usually run 225 a night over the bowl weekend, BUT.. it is a full living room with a pull out sofa and seperate bedroom... so you can share with people and still have privacy... Great hotel and a deal for the money.

I'm very excited about this years Sugar Bowl.... Way better than last years match up!
