Steelers(-5.5) at Browns

I hope the refs at least bought Norv dinner first because that was just brutal.

In Ed Hochuli's defense, it was very hard for him to see...

It's time. If the Browns don't make the playoffs it's time for a new coach. I think Savage has the right idea on personnel, but the lack of preparation and time management from the top down killed them tonight and has killed them in the past.

And I STILL hate the 3-4.
Totally agree with you. Enough is enough. He has made too many stupid mistakes for a head coach over the past couple years. I won't blame him for not getting any points at the end of the first half because it was Anderson who threw the interception but why would you run Lewis two times right up the middle when we had the ball in our final possession of the game and why kick a field goal when you know you probably are not going to get the ball back. It was even a stupid onside kick because Dawson had the wind and could have put it in the end zone.

I thought I had salved my bruised ego with the fact that I bet 10,000 on the Steelers. But then I learned that the Browns covered, so I lost anyway.:smash:

I've been ripping Romeo's use of timeouts well before this game. This was just the icing on the cake. Either hire a new guy as assistant coach in charge of using timeouts, or Fire Crennel.

Or Just Fire Crennel.

Ever since they hired him, I cannot think of many defensive coordinators who became successful head coaches unless they just walked in to a ton of talent. I will give him the rest of the season and see what happens but I don't think there will be much improvement so it will be time to say goodbye. He probably is a good and decent man when he was not made to be a head football coach in the NFL.

The play calling at the end definitly left something to be desired. I don't know WHY they thought they had a good chance to get the ball back with 3-4 minutes left on the clock, Steelers were running the ball alright. I kept saying "They should go for the TD here, a field goal ONLY helps them if they get the ball back and score a TD." In the unlikely event they did get the ball back, if they missed the first TD chance they had a 2nd shot to tie the game. If they made the first one, they could have used that last drive to possibly win, or just go into OT. On the other hand, the defense really kept them in this ball game, it was the inept offense that kept them from winning for 4 quarters.
