Steeler vs. Colts - Part Deux

My .02

The refs kept that game a lot closer than it should have been.

Manning will never shed the choker label.

Dungy has reached Coop status for doing less with more and looking consistently bewilderd on the sideline.

That wasn't a FG miss, it was a punt into the corner. I have never seen a kick get off cleanly and miss by that much.

I think the Steelers just put the soft and finesse label back on Indy.

As much as the assmunches that call games always make a huge deal out of the volume of kicks that he's made, I don't ever, EVER, remember Vaderjackoff ever making a kick that really counted. I can remember at least 2 MNF games he missed kicks to lose games, this week, other weeks...he may have made more total FGs than anyone else, but he's missed more important ones than anyone else. Id' take Vinateri, Elam, Carney, Kasey, heck even Gould over his dumb ass.

And yes, he deserves all the shit he gets now, but then again, he really always did.

So I guess the Colts are the 2000's equivalent of the late 1980's-1990's Chiefs, and their wonderful kicker, Lin Elliot. Ironically, it was the Colts that beat one of those teams in a huge upset because I think Elliot missed 3.

Colts...the GREATEST TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF (regular season) FOOTBALL!!!!

Nowhere near the most bewildered coach I've seen...

That referee will never work another playoff game in his life. What a horrible call on the INT. If he would have stayed down it would have been an INT but if he does a roll and gets up and loses the ball it is not. Based on that call how can it be ruled a catch if Polamalu would have stayed down with no "football move"?

I would package Dungy and Manning and send them to NO for draft choices. I would cut Vanderfag. Then I would re-sign James to a long term contract and bring in Martz to be the head coach.

Martz might be an ass, but he would whip this team into a tougher group.

Next week is a Browns' fan worst nightmare. I'm rooting for a blizzard to win.

:slappy:

Funny stuff. Although I would have thought a Browns' fan's worst nightmare would have included them having to play either of those teams in the playoffs. :)

Steelers got a few calls to start the game but the officiating went down the tubes after that. A decent number of missed calls against the Colts, and the review of Polamalu's interception was atrocious.

Bettis' fumble was unbelievable. They finally had a chance to close out the game after overcoming the bad review call, and he coughed up the ball in large fashion. Ben made a great play to stop the TD. That would have been a sad thought to have seen that carry be Bettis' last.

As a Steelers fan, I'm very impressed with the way that their offense played in the noisy dome, and all the more glad that Lebeau is their D coordinator. That guy put together an excellent plan today.

Next week will be a tough game, especially since the Broncos are also a running team with a stout defense. It will be a challenge to sack plummer with his mobility. I'd probably feel a little better if Joe Germaine were the backup QB so he could come off the bench for a final drive if needed. :)

Most Browns fans would be overjoyed that we at least made it to postseason again. The 2002 game against Pittsburgh was a good battle until the end.

For me, it'd be a little easier to choose a team to root for if there was a Buckeye on the roster. It's the only reason I'm rooting for the Panthers to win it all.
