Star Wars (May the Force be with you)

So is Solo any good? Might go see it this weekend.

i actually lied it. not as good as Rogue One but still entertaining and somewhat fun. but on the heels of of the backlash over The Last Jedi and Infinity War and Deadpool 2 still being fresh I can see why its box office performance isn't that good.

I saw The Last Jedi twice and I have not bought the bluray. and I honestly don't think I will. I am completely ok with the sequel trilogy moving away from original trilogy. but for the love of the maker could the stories and characters be better? I hate Finn. I hate Rose. I dispise Poe. Kylo isn't believable as a villain. who the hell was snoke? when did Leia become Mary Poppins? Luke becomes a puss who won't help his sister?? the Rey character isn't that bad.
as of right now the franchise would have been better off with the stand alone films and not trying to continue a story it has no f'n clue how to advance.

I thought it was good. I'm glad I watched it and will buy it when it comes out. There are probably things that they should have done differently, and they may have left it too open-ended. But I'm hoping they run a sequel to this.
Boba Fett movie coming next...actors that played Lando and Han are signed for 3 movies. I expect to see them in that for sure.

It doesn't totally surprise me. After The Last Jedi, I think there is some Star Wars fatigue...

I don't disagree with any of this but, I'm gonna say this, I spent a couple days at the lake over the weekend, and I've never seen that many people out and about on Memorial day... it was wall to wall humanity where I was... I had to get extremely creative to get back to the 'Bus without sitting in an hour traffic jam on 2, and one look at the Turnpike driving under it and I went on my happy way through the great NWO countryside. All of which is to say, I observed a whole shit ton of people not watching movies. I dunno if that translates to the $25 million or whatever they had under Disney's projection... but seems like Holiday weekends would be dangerous with a lot of nice weather.

At any rate, I'm glad to hear people like it more or less.

This was my exact weekend too and I had the same thought about the weather/holiday effect. We just finally got through the crappiest non-spring ever into a glorious opening summer weekend, I should hope that people preferred to be grilling snd chilling at the lake.

Of course, I also got up to the lake the next day since we took the girls to their first SW movie in a theater on Friday. We all thought it was a lot of fun.
