George Lucas makes Michael Bay look like Martin Scorsese.

Disney buys Lucasfilm: Star Wars Episode VII to be released in 2015
Starring Johnny Depp.

My real hope is that this means we'll finally get quality remasters of Star Wars, Empire & Return as originally released.

there's no way they could change any of the canon. There's so much material out there, to try and change it would be very disappointing. I'm in the middle of Jedi Quest series right now.

EU stuff isn't canon.

I am not sure why anyone would be angry. It's not like Lucasfilm has made a decent movie since 1981.

There is some decent material out there in the dark horse stuff and at least the Thrawn stuff from Zahn. Will be interesting to see if there is a shift in canon.

i really liked zahns writing and wish this was the route Disney would go but alas....

'Star Wars' sequel 'not based on Timothy Zahn novels'

Published Wednesday, Oct 31 2012, 9:53am EDT | By Mark Langshaw |3 Star Wars: Episode 7 will not be based on Timothy Zahn's popular Thrawn Trilogy novels, according to a report.

Zahn's books, which have been largely embraced by the saga's fanbase, pick up five years after the events of Return of the Jedi and feature the same cast as the original trilogy.

However, E! Online claims to have heard from a Lucasfilm insider that the recently announced movie sequel will be an "original story" bearing no relation to the novels.

The Thrawn Trilogy began with the release of Heir to the Empire in 1991, which went on to become a New York Times best seller.
