Nooo! George Lucas Makes More Changes to Original Trilogy
Originally, Darth Vader just stood and watched the Emperor electrocute Luke with lightning bolts before coming to his son's rescue. Not anymore. Now, right before Darth Vader comes out of his daze, lifts up the Emperor, and tosses him to his death, the Dark Lord of the Sith yells a helpless "Noooo!"

I didn't mind the deleted scenes being added in the last time he screwed with the movies. Those at least added something (although the whole "Greedo shot first" edit is laughable). These changes are change for the sake of change. They don't add anything and tick people off. Maybe someone will synch the original soundtrack to the Blu Ray movies and undo some of this useless crap.

The LaserDiscs were only 30 minutes per side, so changing discs sucked, but they were widescreen, had THX, but were otherwise un-fucked with. That set is about the only way to get the originals the way we all probably remember them, but with the A/V quality expected today.
The alternative would be to go back to 1984 tech and get an RCA CED player and the Selectavision pressings of the trilogy. The Star Wars CEDs were time compressed (sped up about 2-1/2%), but the first press of the original Star Wars CED was made from one of the nine original 70mm theatrical prints. A buddy of mine in grade school had the Empire Strikes Back CED. We watched it after school at least once a week for a solid year.

No need to go for laser disc. Sadly, the only high def alternatives are enhanced versions of the 480p movies or rips from a television broadcast that essentially up scaled the picture. Hopefully at some point they will do another limited release of the original theatrical releases on blu ray.
