Stanford +7.5 at ND (ov/un 44.5) Sat 3:30 NBC

Seems like every time i watch ND, they are trailing at home and get flagged down the field

Blame the opponent's refs, Notre Dame uses the opposition's refs on the field at home.

That said, Notre Dame should not have won, but Stanford also shouldn't have been on the goal line. PAC 10 blew an obvious holding call on Nunes's big run in overtime, but that point is moot. PAC 10 blew calls all game, and this is nothing new. In '05 PAC 10 blew the Bush Push play, and here they rule in our favor.

Anyway, ugly game offensively for the Irish. Stanford's only TD comes from that fumble in ND's endzone, taking the sack for a safety would have been preferred. Impressive stand by the defense again as a whole, Stanford was still the more physical team though. Couldn't believe the rain decided to come back on that final drive of regulation...little worried when they got stopped that the field goal snap would go badly again.

I feel like this kind of just delays the inevitable. The offense is playing very poorly at home this year for some reason, they've been more productive on the road. That still doesn't bode well at Oklahoma though, the offense would need their best game of the year to come out with a win there, and I don't see it happening. BYU is no pushover either, and they'll come in focused after a loss against Oregon State.

Why do they let Golson play QB, that guy has no arm and is clueless back there

Golson can actually sling the ball really well, but he's looked really rattled at home this year. He's played his best on the road against Navy, Miami, and Michigan State. His games at home against Purdue, Michigan, and Stanford all resulted in poor offensive production and one way or another Rees ended up coming in. Can't put my finger on it, although some of it can be attributed to the defenses we've faced at home. Tommy knows the offense well, but he doesn't have a killer arm, he tosses a lot of lobs and not many quick strikes.

Golson is seeing much more 6 and 7 man packages than Tommy...the DCs know he is a pup and are making him beat them. He isn't ready for that yet.
