Yeah, with the Irish it's always opponents refs on the field at home, Big East in replay booth. Away it's Big East on the field, opponent's refs in replay.

Yeah, this one is still going around. Tough call, but it seems to show that forward progress was stopped, or at least the PAC 10 refs deemed so, and blew the whistle. At that point defense started celebrating, and then Taylor stretched the arm, elbow went down, ball crossed the goal. So, you can make the argument that he may have still been trying to gain yards, but by that point the play was already whistled done. Heres a good shot of the elbow:
