Nice to see Pryor mentoring Miller. I believe that Miller is gonna make some noise and push for playing time. Nice to see we are loaded at the QB position.....but dont get me started on why we only have 10 scholarship offensive linemen.....that sucks. Go Bucks

There's no way I would say we are "loaded" at the QB position. Last year there was a huge "drop off" at the position when Pryor went out. I wouldn't consider us being "loaded" at QB until a couple of the "back ups" step up and show an ability to perform close to Pryor's proven performance level.

yeah, last season everyone was in agreement that if TP went down, you guys were screwed. Miller is defo the future, but bringing in one stud freshman isn't what I would consider "loaded." Of course, in this day and age, having one good backup is probably all you need.

Is Jamal Berry still playing? He came in with a lot of hype last year, is this the year he breaks out considering the suspension of the other RB? Or is he still low

Not sure what you mean by OSU was "screwed" if Pryor went down to injury. Would OSU have gone 9-3 instead of 11-1 during the regular season? Maybe. But then again, you could say the same thing for about 99% of college football teams.

Would OSU have been UM-bad (i.e., 7-5 or worse)? Nope.

Maybe not, but what college football program is loaded at QB under your definition?

From Page 2 of this thread.

Jordan Hall and Jaamal Berry also got time with the first team. Berry had a couple of really nice plays, including one that might have gone for a long TD run. Rod Smith and Carlos Hyde worked primarily with the threes. We didn't get to see much of them.

when TP went down vs Illinois, you could feel the collected gasp at that point in the season. NC hopes were abound, so yeah, 9-3 would have been "screwed" at that point because an undefeated season at that point was pretty plausible, especially with how Boekman came in and performed in his one or two series.

Well, then--thanks for making my point for me. And, by the way, it was Bauserman, not Boeckman (and, you'll note that you misspelled Boeckman's name). Try to keep up.

By the way--I'm still waiting on your answer as to what college football program is loaded at QB, since you said OSU is not.

I think the point here is that we aren't "loaded" at QB until someone other than TP proves to be a solid backup....which JB hasn't. Now to your point that no one in CFB is loaded at QB....well you are probably right too. But that doesn't change the fact that we're in a precarious position until TP comes back or one of these guys proves to be more than a HS phenom. Here's hoping one of these young guys DOES prove that.

My point exactly. scUMmers love to proclaim that, "OSU is screwed if Pryor goes down," as if that is some sort of indictment on the OSU program; yet it's totally lost on them that if the starting QB of just about any team in the nation (UM, of course, included in that) goes down for an extended period of time, that team is "screwed." I simply find it funny how short-sighted UM fans can be in that they try so hard to knock the OSU program, that they fail to realize that the same knock could be applied to every major college program.

I doubt that anyone on this board actually knows for sure, as all we see playing on Saturday for the other teams is the QB who the team starts. We don't really know how good any teams backups are (except last years scUM team, we knew that "Tater" was pretty crappy from the year before ) as we don't see their practices and the backups don't usually get into the game for "meaningful minutes" (i.e. vs. "garbage time"). If a team does accumulate 2 or 3 "five star quaterbacks" they don't stay loaded for long as the ones not starting usually transfer.
