Sports 'journalists' (Who Don't Work For ESPN)

It's ridiculous. Every year, people start acting like close games means you suck. Then someone says what about 2002? Well this year's team is no 2002! But 2002 wasn't 2002 until they beat Miami. Close games build character and confidence. This team is far from perfect but it's perfect where it counts most. Wins and losses. Everyone has a right to their opinion, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna complain while my favorite team in my favorite sport is 18-0.

Most here at BP are fine imo. But outside of this cocoon, the world has gone bat[Mark May].

Who knows, maybe this is the type of team that needs to be beaten early, because if you don't, you won't be beating them late in the year. Last year's team was like that quite a bit.

It wasn't lack of effort at all last night. Had the effort not been there, Roby doesn't chase that guy down from behind in the 4th quarter. The scheme needs some tweaking, but that's why the coaches are paid as well as they are. These guys aren't living in a bubble, they know there are problems with playing 15 yards off of guys.

Curious, how many actually go to Sporting News (or its website) for anything these days? I was thinking people turn to it less than even bad sports websites like Bleacher Report.

So someone like Sporting News needs to write insane things or headlines to draw people. College Football News took a similar route years ago and people still don't go to that site often.

I don't think he was actually some much as an indictment on Meyer's coaching ability, but more regarding the national perception of the Buckeyes:

He actually makes some valid points.

That little blurb that you quoted doesn't even remotely make me want to read more. It's just plain stupid. "The team had to be bailed out by one player and the offensive line". WTF kind of warped logic is that?? That one player, and the offensive line, ARE PART OF THE TEAM!

So basically we did what Alabama has been doing these last few years? Dominating with a running game and offensive line.

I. Will. Take. It.

This should be fun before the weekend.

The important thing to know about everyone who lives in the state of Ohio is this -- every single person who lives in the state of Ohio actually wishes they lived somewhere else.

Every. Single. One.

Ohio State is the most-SEC like fan base in the country that's not actually in the SEC.

Basically, Ohio State is like a homeless SEC team.

None of them are that funny. That won't stop a few posters here from saying how omgz accurate they are but it only applies to other tOSU fans, not them or people they like.

Well, he does rag on Bucknuts, so it seems like we're cool here. But what gets me is everyone acting like an adult living above his parents' garage is a loser. Have we all forgotten this guy?

He says shit like:

"They like to look down on the South, despite the fact that Ohio State has never beaten an SEC team in a bowl game.
That's 0-9 all time.
(Stop with the emails, you had to vacate the Sugar Bowl "win" over Arkansas.) "

So our "vacating" the game means it didn't take place?

Another beauty:

"They already know living in the South is better than living in Ohio -- hello, they see your Facebook updates in the December sunshine, asshole"

Yeah, Ohio is the only state north of the MD Line that has people living in the south during the winter. Gotcha, Clay...

Man the internet sure has made it possible for uneducated hacks to pass themselves off as journalists and use the fifth estate as a way to say whatever they want about others. I lived long enough in the south to know that I would never want to live there long term. I had never been called a northerner before or since those two god awful years of my life.
