Sheridan on Urban Meyer, 'He's not one of the top 25 coaches in the country. Florida was left in ruins. No way in hell he's in the top 25.'

:slappy:

Danny Sheridan. Yup. He's got an impressive resume.

Item#2 from his website Bio: University of Alabama, 1979 Graduate.

Nearly as impressive as these tidbits:

Danny's annual preseason College & Pro Football, NBA, Baseball Previews have been featured in PLAYBOY, PENTHOUSE, MAXIM, FHM and Cigar Aficioinado Magazines. (I guess spell checking before adding content is optional on his website).

On November 1, 2012, Danny Sheridan was given the title of Lord Sheridan of Wansley Manor, which is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Well look at this little douchebag.

NCAA FB
Are these Tressel's iPhone notes?
Tully Corcoran

Jim Tressel is going to teach a class at the University Akron called "general principles of coaching," which sounds like a real hoot. He always looked like a professor, didn't he? Nobody knows exactly what those principles are, though, so it's lucky that I happen to have access to Jim Tressel's iPhone notes*. (How I got the access isn't so important.)

Consider this your cheat sheet.

Fox seems to be competing with secpn on levels of stupidity I was hoping they would avoid.

Sure but what it doesn't explain is why Fox felt it was worth posting on their site. It's a fucking stupid article that clearly shows Tully doesn't have the skills required to even beat a dead horse properly. Is this what we can look forward to when clicking on an article that might pertain to the Buckeyes from Fox.com? I guess I was just being foolish in expecting just a lil more from a BIG partner.

Honestly you are that butthurt over that article? I mean I love JT too but the guy made a gigantic error in judgement and he's going to hear this - in varying degrees - forever.

I'm not butthurt over that article. I just don't understand why Fox thought that it was good enough to bother posting. If DEADSPIN had posted this I'd think they were slipping. I've laughed at things that have poked fun at Tress or the Buckeyes in general. I just didn't think this was an effort that deserved a slot on Fox.com or a chuckle.

Doyel being Doyel.

My problem, in a nutshell, is this:

Meyer and his players are using outsiders as pawns in their game of "Michigan is a very big rival."

And I understand part of that last sentence: Michigan is a very big rival. Wolverines coach Brady Hoke refuses to give Ohio State the respect of using its actual name; he calls the school "Ohio," which is silly. But it isn't confrontational. Hoke isn't (as far as we know) pushing his silly terminology on visitors to campus, telling them they cannot put the word "State" after the word "Ohio." Hoke isn't using outsiders as pawns in his game of "Ohio State is a very big rival."

Not that I'm saying Hoke is a better guy than Meyer. I'm not going there, so don't go there for me. Still, it's one thing for Meyer and his team to send the message that Michigan is a huge rival.

It's something else for the Buckeyes to use invited guests as a canvas, upon which they're painting that message.

Option #1: Treat a color ban during practice as a humorous way to reinforce the greatest rivalry in sports.

Option #2: Be a condescending, holier-than-though douchebag by acting like enforcing a color ban during practice is somehow a big deal and harmful.

It has been said before, but since when have sports writers gotten paid to ignore sports and focus primarily on morality?
