My dad is a die hard Yankees fan since he was old enough to MacGyver-rig a makeshift antenna in their front yard to pull in the radio broadcasts of games from New York (age 7) - so when I was born, dad instilled in me an appreciation for people like Don Mattingly and the late Thurmun Munson. Mom likes to brag about the time when she went to a Yankees/Indians game while pregnant with me and Johnny Bench autographed a baseball for her and told her "Now you take care of that baby!"
