God, all of the mid-80's Pirate's pitchers were fucking golden.

Does anyone remember the name of the goofy-looking fucker who had his contract done with all 9's?

EDIT - Hrm....Turk Wendell....but he doesn't look like I thought.

I just hauled about 60,000 cards out of my mom's house (she's selling) a few weeks ago. I collected from 83-90. 87 was my biggest year. I have a 5,000 count box of 87 Topps alone. It's sad to look threw my "stars" book and see how many of those guys flopped or roided up. I have some nice autographs too from countless hours spent hanging around the player's entrance at Riverfront. I have a half dozen totes of other memorabilia. Thank god my dad had the good sense to convince me that the old guys were cool too, because I'm sure that my Mantle and Mays cards are worth way more than my McGwire and Bonds cards will ever be. My best deal ever was buying a Nolan Ryan rookie with a small crease for $10 and a '59 Mantle for $8 from the same dealer who was going out of business that day. Unfortunately, some asshole broke into our house when I was in high school and stole several books of cards including about 1000 autographs, my Reds collection covering the 50s-70s, my book of my favorite players. Still pisses me off to think about that.
