I'm ok with not calling a TO.

No need to get Braxton hit again. They weren't going to complete anything deeper than about 10 yards.

Time to regroup and figure out how to move the ball in the 2nd half.

I agree.

We're having blocking issues, and the last thing we needed was one more play with a turnover or worse. Extremely wishful thinking, imo, to expect we were going to get points after that sack.

There is no risk to using a timeout there.

It was 3rd and 14 with 14 second in the half. You take the timeout, and push one downfield and hope for the best. If it's picked, you hope your team on the field is awre enough of the situattion to be in a position to a make a tackle.

But I'm sot sure Fickell and staff are advanced enough to have that level of awareness.

The clock management of this staff has been beyond atrocious. Just basic level clock management miscues are pretty telling....

The fact the Braxton couldn't get to the LOS after a first down with a play called is terrible. The fact that they don't trust the offense at their own 40 with 14 seconds and a timeout is beyond telling.

Beyond a lack of trust in the offense, its just inept coaching decisions.

Hell, with 3rd and 14 you could of at least let the clock go down to 1 second and just throw up a Hail Mary. I mean, they're just detroying basic level coaching concepts with ineptitude.

It's awful.

That's it. I've had it. Fickell is not ready. There is no excuse for not calling that Timeout. Football is NOT a game of giving up. Every second matters.

Braxton has already been dinged up, who knows why they didn't call TO.

He got an ankle worked on in the first quarter, and was injured earlier in the year. I'm ok with regrouping.

I'd love to see Carlos get 15 carries in the second half, and a couple screens called. He looks good out there.

Honestly, we are a single big play down. The only reason we destroyed Colorado was the big play, so lets go out and get a couple to start the second half.

Oh, and crowd? Fuck you.

Booing idiots. I just don't understand how you can watch the game, see the team is clearly struggling/deer in the headlights, and boo. I know many disagree with me, and thats fine, but I personally think its bullshit.

So be it. Such is the curse of being a fan.

Did the hole in my wall get there by itself? Hell no! Is my blood pressure 180/140 right now because it's good for me? Hell no! Are the cats hiding under the bed for their health? Hell.....well, yeah, I guess they are. When the going gets tough........

There are a lot of questions to be answered on this team and the coaching staff...... 2nd half we need to be better in all aspects... I'm taking a wait and see approach to this game..... on a side note... My 3 month old daughter had the most impressive performance of the first half.... a diaper blowout ... up the side and the back... had to toss the onesie it was so soiled...

at least call it with :01 left and just heave it, and it's college football

You guys wanted a timeout so they could tee off on a freshman QB on 3rd & forever?

what Jlb said.

Braxton is only seeing the rush, he's barely even looking downfield except on precise reads and quick throws. Who is to say the ball would even leave his hands in a hail mary type situation at this point?

In that case the risks far outweighed the possible gains. It was the right call, especially (again in this case) because it's not just the popular call.

1) ADJUSTMENTS

2) LEADERSHIP

3) GAME/CLOCK MANAGEMENT

All these are on the coaches when you have a young team. The way I see it the kids are giving the effort. The coaches are not putting in them in positions to succeed. Am I off base?

JFC

This post, x1000. If our coaches don't put the boys in a good position and give them reasons to push, they're not going to get it done.

.

Can't blame them for not trusting an offense that is producing 2 yards per play...
