Sparty at tOSU, Nov 20th, 12 pm ET, ABC

The major part is SOS is the winning % of your opponents. Because the SEC only plays 8 conference games, and almost all of their schools schedule an extra cupcake, some of which are FCS, the SEC (separate from the other 3 non-conference games for everybody), has about 7 fewer losses overall than the B1G. That’s part of why, as a group, their teams are rated more highly by simple algorithms. Yeah, with 9 conference games you play a tougher schedule, but you don’t get credit for playing a tougher schedule.

That, along with less opportunities for home games (every other year tOSU has 5 road conference games), was why I wasn’t enthused when Delany switched to the 9-game B1G conference slate.
Everyone across the board should be made to play 9 game conference schedules and no FCS opponents. The money is too big and being split to keep this stuff from being on equal footing. So now the SEC just added two more teams to count in the standings without them playing more conference games. This is where the nation should have it's upheaval and bring out the torches and pitchforks

BEST START IN SIX YEARS

WALKER IS THE NATION'S LEADING RUSHER

WORST PASS DEFENSE IN THE FBS......:gagnam:

If there’s a clear vulnerability to exploit in a matchup with the Spartans, it’s their pass defense, which ranks dead last in the Football Bowl Subdivision in passing yards allowed this season.

Opposing teams are averaging 329 yards per game through the air against Michigan State, which is nearly 25 more than any other team in the country has allowed to opponents.

Five teams have thrown for at least 350 yards against the Michigan State secondary this season. Maryland went for exactly 350 this past weekend, Miami threw for 388 in Week 3, Western Kentucky put up 488 on Oct. 2 and Purdue racked up an astonishing 536 yards through the air in its upset win over Sparty. Even Michigan, which has the 71st-ranked pass offense in the country through 10 games, managed to tally 406 pass yards against Michigan State.

Michigan State has been stout against the run, ranking 20th in the country with an average allowance of 115.2 yards per game, but the pass defense is bad enough to drag the Spartans’ total defense down to No. 111 in the nation.

The bad news for Spartan fans is the Buckeyes will enter Saturday with the nation’s sixth-best pass attack and the No. 1 total and scoring offense in America.

SECOND-MOST EFFICIENT QUARTERBACK IN THE B1G

NOT ALWAYS DOMINANT IN CONFERENCE PLAY

I’ve said this many times: This map was created when Ohio was winning the war.

You know, there ARE many of us Buckeyes who live in that disputed strip of land. If that map had become reality I would be a resident of that God forsaken hell-hole to the north.
If it's any consolation, when Congress finally gave the "strip" to Ohio, they created one interesting little item.
Toledo has two rivers that flow into Maumee Bay, the Ottawa and the Maumee. They create a peninsula between them that extends into the bay. The very tip of that peninsula is known locally as "The Lost Peninsula" The state line cuts across it, and it is actually in Mich. but can only be accessed by going through Ohio. It forces the scUMmers who live there to have to deal with the Great Buckeye State.

It’s people like you who are in the not-to-be-fucc’d 1/3. God bless you for being on the front as you are. General Mcauliffe appreciates how you’ve dug in and held the line. It’s been a long battle, and being from that area, I know the battle fatigue that comes with it.

Interestingly, when I came down last night to snap a picture of that map for the above post, a number of my wife’s friends were over for bible study. I heard someone say something about the State of Ohio and tOSU flags on the house… there was a *ichagander in my house. We had an interesting conversation about the Toledo Strip as she had zero clue about the history. She also commented that this is the first year in a long time that she felt like Hairball was ‘trying’ to coach. I laughed and mentioned that they may have just rebalanced his meds or he stopped taking his meds, citing the drastic change in demeanor post ‘16 until this year with the blank stares and the completely flat affect in the years between. Turns out she is a psychologist… it gave her pretty significant pause. I am pretty sure she’s rethinking the ‘he’s just trying now’ explanation. LOL.

So the more I think about this game, my biggest concern becomes for the health and well being of Stroud.

The MSU DC knows he can't cover the OSU WR's with his secondary. He also knows he can't generate enough pass rush with just his down linemen. So I don't see any option for him except blitz and I mean heavy. Like bring-more-than-they-can-block-on-every-down kind of thing because what does he have to lose? He will get shredded if he sits back and crazy go nuts blitzing at least has some percentage chance of success.

Just a thought
