i was looking for insight...if you don't have any to offer, im ok with that

I guess I don't understand how you can prove you don't know anything about Ohio State yet claim that USC is going to destroy them.

And I can't even say it must be a Cali thing (at least in a non-poser fashion) because Methomps and Troy#1 are cool.

So I'm guessing you've been a USC fan since around the 2003 time frame. You probably have no earthly idea who the QB before Carson Palmer was for instance.

It's ok, you're in the same category as about 95% of the most vocal SEC fans so you have that going for you.

pete's been fortunate lately not to have that issue at the qb position, but last year mcknight, gable both sat after fumbling...he hates turnovers...just like i'm sure tressel does

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't people calling for Booty's heard the first couple of games of the 2007 season because he was throwing INT's and wanted to see Sanchez? Carroll stuck with his man though, minus Booty's injuries, and Booty ended the year with a Rose Bowl victory.

Also there is a huge difference between a RB by committee and changing the starting QB's multiple times.

If Barkley sucks vs San Jose St then maybe I could see him benching Barkley, but if he does good then he will start vs OSU and I think Carroll will give Barkley a pretty long leash in the game.

can't find where i said sc would "destroy" tOSU? i know you have issues in both lines and we don't...usually where games are won and/or lost. pretty simple analysis.

You have implied it multiple times and your analysis pretty much sucks.

As I said, you are pretty much in the same category as the most vocal SEC fans, way to go.

the fans were split about 50/50 between sanchez and booty. booty didn't star so the 50% called for sanchez but pete stuck with booty...by his own admission, too long into the stanford game after he hurt his throwing hand and started sailing passes...that was a killer!

can anyone offer any advice on tailgating? we like to come early and stay late. where should we try to target?

Usually our fans are ok. However, you have two things working against you: (1) It's a night game. There will be an abnormally high number of drunks around the shoe by game time. Drunk sports fans are generally assholes. Drunk college students are assholes. (2) As a Buckeyes fan I admittedly have a bit of red ass from last years game and other recent big game embarrassments. Keep trash talk to a minimum because most people just don't want to hear it. Keep these things in mind and you should be fine. I hope you have fun.

No way do I see Carroll benching Barkley in the middle of the game, unless the guy flips out or starts back-talking the coaches.

They kept freaking Booty in with a broken finger (and how many interceptions again? FOUR?) against Stanford. I think when it comes down to QB, Carroll is not the type to start rotating guys at the QB position.

I don't see Barkley throwing over 4 interceptions at Ohio State. At least I hope not.

I predict lots of running behind our awesome offensive line, and then lots of screens and slants to keep the defense from all-out blocking the run. Lots of McKnight at the line of scrimmage or Damian Williams from 10 yards out. High-percentage plays that help propel the running game, which will be the meat of the attack (besides the odd bomb that they are sure to have Barkley throw as a surprise).

Well, SC's got quite a stable of RBs. I'm not sure that Barkley or Corp and/or Mustain can be a "three headed monster" (or even a 2 headed one, leving MM out). I guess what I'm trying to say is - you can run in 2 or 3 RBs without much loss in rythm Changing QBs can be a signifigant problem..

How can you say what I've put in bold when Pete's track record has been to stick with his man once he's made up his mind?

Maybe I'm wrong, and I'm sure you know more about SC than I do, but what SC QB has hit the pine owing to poor performance?

He's also not a fan of playing backup QBs.

2008
Mitch Mustain - 11/16 157yds 2TDs 2INTs
Aaron Corp - 2/4 14yds 0TDs 0INTs

I thought USC was in a lot of blow outs? Seriously, do the QBs just hand off the entire 4th quarter?

Yeah, they do, pretty much. Often towards the end of the 3rd quarter, actually...

Gotta get the ball to all those running backs somehow, you know? It also helps run down the clock and end the game. But yeah, as I recall watching the games you knew when USC felt it had it wrapped up, because they'd just start running it or doing passes in the backfield for every play.

I would think that is exactly what they'll do. Pete's probably more "free wheeling" than Tressel (probably? Definitely, lol) But, when you've got a solid line and great RBs, there's no need to put the game in a Freshman's hands until you're forced to.

unlike many of our friends from the sec (meyer), pete does not run up scores and often does hand off a lot in the fourth qtr of games that are out of reach.
