Much has been made of Matt Barkley's apparent penchant for throwing interceptions during Fall Camp 2009.
Crazy thing is, nothing could be further from the truth.
you can only tell so much from practice

Ryan Leaf was an excellent practice player in the NFL, we all know what happened when he played live games..........

from reasonable USC fans, I hear he still has the Brett Favre syndrome he had in HS, doesnt know how to take a sack or throw the ball away and ends up making a bad decision

and playing in front of a hostile crowd of 100,000+ on the road against a top 10 team is just a tad tougher than practicing against your own team

USC does have the mighty UW Huskies the week after.

I wouldn't sleep walk on the game after. The nation saw what happened to USC last year after beating us - a 21-27 loss to Oregon St.

Heck, you guys just squeaked out a win against UW in 07 after dismantling Wash St the week prior, then followed it up with a loss to Stanford AT HOME.

Every - Game - Counts.

I still see no reason how OSU will be able to stop USC's run game.

Putting aside your questionable sentence structure let me see if you can "see" this reasoning.

1) The OSU defensive game plan will be to give allot of different looks so that Barkley is never in sync.

2) The OSU defensive staff has over the last several years have been master at using lots of zone blitz schemes with DE dropping into the short zones while bringing pressure form different angles. BTW, zone blitzes have the added advantage of being effective against running plays because there are lots of defensive players in the box.

3) The major difference in the OSU defense that USC will see this year as opposed to last's is the speed off the edges is much, much better. With the emergence of Gibson and Williams we were a much more effective defensive team in the Fiesta Bowl then when played you.

4) Add 100,000 screaming fans at night in the Shoe.

5) And lastly add in a true freshman QB whose MO is that he not as mobile as Sanchez and he has a tendency to force the ball into receivers rather then take the sack or throw it away.

Now along about now you will be saying "I said stop the running game you idiot" to which I will reply to you "How can 5 offensive lineman block 7 defenders". And the answer to that question is they can't. Does that mean we will hold USC to 45 years in 30 carries? No, McKnight and your OL are way too talented for that. But if Barkley is unable to make OSU pay for keeping defenders in the box (and actually Rojo?s injury will have an impact on this more then anything else that has happened to you this fall) and does not generate much offensive production out of the passing game, you will need at least 200 yards rushing to win the game. And I don't think you can do that with 5 blocking 7.
