It's more like he knows what he has at RT. Cordle may not be great but he's a veteran and possible captain. Shugarts could break that up, but if he doesn't, JT has a good idea what to expect.

I'd say: Adams/Boren/Brewster/Cordle/Shugarts in terms of talent

Ready to play (remember there is still half of fall camp left so the "talented" players maybe still become "ready to play".
: Adams/Boren/Brewster/Browning/Cordle

I'm not sure I understand that reasoning. Who do you consider the 5 most talented/ready to play players?

Boren and Brewster sound like locks.
the other three seem very up in the air.
Boren and Brewster are locks. The other three are up in the air. Hence, the uncertainty about the o-line. The one great hope that we have with these guys are that they're talented guys, and except for maybe Adams, they're nasty. The nasty is a complete 180 from last season. At least that's what we keep hearing.

I'd say both tackle spots are question marks at this point, but not necessarily weaknesses. The edges don't match the strength of the middle (Boren, Brew, Browning/Cordle), which is as good as we've had in years. Adams and Shugarts were recruited to anchor the bookends, but injuries and adjustment to the college game haven't gone as expected. Cordle certainly doesn't have an ideal frame for playing tackle, but his experience and adaptability make him a good choice to fill in wherever there is a lack of a sure starter. Really, it won't take much to improve on the tackle play from last season, both Boone and Browning were liabilities too many times. There are a lot of positions on both sides of the ball where a starter has not been named, so it may not be so much about lack of ability, as hoping competition lets the cream rise to the top. Pryor's mobility will help mask some weaknesses, but I expect the tackle play to be improved over last year's game.
