So what does everyone think about players who didn't make an impact in last year's game but will this year? Top of my head for SC:

QB Aaron Corp
RT Tyron Smith
DE Everson Griffen
I'm hoping the DL makes a huge impact in this game. I still think their toughest test of the year is going to come in Happy Valley...but this is a close second.

PSU is rebuilding their line, USC remains loaded with returning starters. I'm selling this statement of yours.

DE Thaddeus Gibson... had a very strong second half of the season, Colt McCoy is still having nightmares about him. He's expected to have a big year and likely be gone in the draft.

LG Justin Boren... nasty, tough lineman. OSU's best OL in practice last year, had to sit out as a transfer. Brings a very different tone to his position.

LB/Star Tyler Moeller... udnersized S/LB hybrid, but a blue-collar playmaker. Has a knack for slicing into the backfield, whether on a screen pass or blitzing the qb.

The true frosh to watch is either CB/WR Corey Brown or Duron Carter. Both have the talent and polish to contribute early at young depth charts.

I'd add Flex TE Jake Stonebuner to that list. I know JT's stubborn reluctance to use TE's much, if at all, in the offense is a potential roadblock, but in a more wideopen offense, he's an intriguing "X-Factor".

From DuaneLongReport
Picked up something that I thought you might all enjoy. The USC staff is concerned about the Ohio State game for several reasons. They are concerned about bringing in a new starter at quarterback. They think we will be an even better defense this fall and that we will be faster. Despite the fact that they have lost an entire linebacking corps, they think they will be an even faster defense. The fastest of the Carroll era. They do not believe Pryor can beat them with his feet. He is going to have to beat them with his arm. They seem concerned about Posey.

They may have their fastest-ever defense but I think TP can outrun even their fastest LBs, and he's way nimbler than any of them.

Nimble is not a word I would use for Pryor. He has excellent speed, but he can be a bit tentative with tacklers around him. He's a lot faster than he is agile.

You. Cannot. Be. Serious.

Too bad you slept through about a dozen moves where he totally out-juked defenders, and that's not counting the dozen or more stiffarms...guess you were busy changing out memory cards in your camera. :roll1:

Here is the current USC linebacking corps, with projected starters in bold:

Luthur Brown ...... 6'2" ... 235 .. 4.57
Jordan Campbell ... 5'11" .. 230 .. 4.60
Ross Cumming ...... 6'1" ... 220 .. NA
Dan Deckas ........ 5'10" .. 210 .. NA
Chris Galippo ..... 6'2" ... 255 .. 4.60
Nick Garratt ...... 6'1" ... 235 .. NA
Uona Kaveinga ..... 6'1" ... 235 .. 4.60
Michael Morgan .... 6'4" ... 220 .. 4.50
Malcolm Smith ..... 6'1" ... 225 .. NA

The forty times were from Rivals...I was surprised at the number of guys who did not have a 40 time listed in their USC or high-school prospect profile.

You really think that Pryor is not faster/nimbler than Galippo, Morgan, or Smith? Seriously?
