Sound Off !!! - Introduce Yourself

Thanks everyone. We dont get ESPN here as we have Sky Sports and setanta. But NASN as far as i know buy the rights to show the games from ESPN in the UK. This also explains why they sometimes blur out the ESPN sign etc But its definately on live at 1am my time(5 hours ahead) theres normally 3 live games on saturday and the odd game friday and sunday. SKY SPORTS show live NFL games I think there is the choice of watching all the games buy pressing the red button to choose what you want to watch.
Anyway enough of me blabbing on about international tv stations. The funny thing here is that I live in a small crappy town, bit of a dump to be honest. Anyway a few years ago it was fashonable to wear Michigan sportswear, dont know why, I never liked it. But after visiting Ohio and walking round town, I can now BOOO people wearing anything Michigan, the best thing is that they have no idea why im doing it...idiots!

GO BUCKEYES!!!

Hello all!

I've been a lurker here for a while now and thought it was time to sign up. I've enjoyed reading the forums and gathering insight. I hope I can contribute!

I'm another member flying the colors in the greater Cincinnati area. We try to make it to C-bus for at least a couple games/tailgates per season...and always have a great time doing so!

Regards,
Paul

My intro

Born and raised in Bellville, oh. Went into the military in 2000. Got out got some education and moved back to the best state in the U.S. I am happily enjoying my first house in Pickerington with my wife for now 5 years. Easily converted her into a FAN as well. I love the buckeyes. Love the tradition. Going to my first game on the 20th can't wait.

I've had a few posts already - but figured I should post an intro.

26 yrs old - Born and raised in Atlanta, been a Dawg Fan for as long as I can remember.
Went to undergrad out of state but returned home and am now enrolled in UGA persuing a secondary degree.

Been to Columbus twice in my lifetime. Have had a beer at the Thirsty Scholar and wondered aloud how the students with homes across from the Stadium manged the gameday crush.
Love your simpleness of your golf courses in Ohio and admire how long your season lasts despite the weather.

Believe with sincere conviction that "southern cookin" is the greatest thing ever and I'm still on my never ending persuit of the best BBQ chicken in America.

Bit of Trivia for you: Last time that UGA and Ohio State played? The Dawgs won a close won in the Citrus Bowl. Robert Edwards ripped off huge gains but we were aided by the wayward arm of the Ohio State Quarterback. You'll find his wayward views every saturday on ESPN at 10:00 o'clock. Kirk Herbstreit.

Didn't Garrison Hearst play for the Dawgs then?

Robert Edwards wasn't in college by the time Herbie graduated.

Another fun antecdote.

Our version of Woody Hayes is Vince Dooley. He's the all time wins leader at Georgia and led the Athletic Department for many successful years after his retirement from coaching. He's also won the SEC 6 times and the National Title in 1980.

Early in his career, Dooley wanted some help on the proper way to build a staff around him. Hayes was going to be speaking in Atlanta for some type of event and Dooley phoned him ahead of time to see if he would extend his trip for a day to discuss proper staff hiring and development.
Hayes said "Only on one condition - if your wife is kind enough to cook a home cooked meal and I can have dinner with your family."

Apparently - Woody loathed hotel food. Mrs. Dooley fixed country fried steak and Coach Hayes stayed an extra day for another meal and to allow Coach Dooley to pick his brain.

2 years later - Vince Dooley and some new staff members lead the Dawgs over Bear Bryant and Alabama for his first SEC title.:highfive:

**story paraphrased from Dooley's autobiography
