Sound Off !!! - Introduce Yourself

Hello everyone...I don't have many posts...but I've been around here for a long time...mainly looking at recruiting news. I've been an Ohio State blogger for a long time...with my latest blog over at the MVNetwork called THE Horseshoe. I've been an Ohio State fan since birth...

my favorite players are...

OFFENSE: Keith Byars. Anyone who saw him outrun Illinois with one shoe and a sock hanging off like an 8-year old could never like another...I'll give you a quote from another website...
setting the stage for one of Ohio Stadium’s greatest moments ever. Mike Tomczak audibled to a draw play to Byars, who broke through the right side behind great blocks by Scott Zalenski and Barry Walker. As he reached the east sideline, Byars cut back towards the middle and somehow his completely tied left shoe came flying off of his foot. It didn’t matter- Keith blew right by the entire Illinois secondary for a 67-yard touchdown. A secondary made up of, as analyst Paul Warfield pointed out on the WOSU telecast, members of the Illinois track and field team.

DEFENSE: Chris Spielman. He is without a doubt, the greatest defensive ballplayer to every suit up in Scarlet and Gray.

Hello!

I am new here. I was born and raised in Ohio but now live in Maryland. I watch the Bucks every chance I get. Which is sometimes only hearing the game on XM as ACC games are usually shown here. (But if the game is on ESPN then we always get it) I have only ever been to the Spring games. Although when we are able my sister does get home season tickets and we are on deck for a game.

I have even made my husband a fan. Although our house also cheers for Alabama, where he graduated from. I am also a BGSU fan having graduated from there. I don't know how much I will post but it is nice to be around, even if online, Buckeye fans on game day.

Yo,

My name's Seth, huge Ohio State fan since I was born nearly 17 years ago.
Nothing makes me happier than a scUM loss or TBDBITL!

I live in Northwestern Ohio, and I try to make it to games when I can, but
cash can be a pain when you're younger, lol. I've shadowed this website
since I was awaiting Oden's decision to go pro, and I've never considered
anything else since. You guys are awesome!

Hey y'all!

This is my first post. Yes, I am from Michigan (see avatar) but before you hate me, hear me out.

I was born and raised in Ohio and graduated from OSU. Then I moved to take a job up here at 'that school up north' and have been here ever since. But I have always remained a true Buckeye, which makes it especially interesting every November.

I have three kids, all of whom were born at Ohio State University Hospital, which in my mind makes them automatic Buckeyes. One of them graduated from UM and is now doing grad work down there at OSU. She remains a true Wolverine, which makes it especially interesting every November. Another one is at Michigan State (called Moo U by the denizens of Ann Arbor). So we are all a blended family!

So I root (alone) for the Buckeyes up here but (don't hate me) Michigan is my second favorite team. A game at the Big House is every bit as exciting as a game at the Shoe because both places are crazy about football. The only time I root against Michigan is that particular game in November (and I have been able to rub it in often the last few years!) or when a Michigan win would threaten Ohio State's standing/rank.

I have been able to deal with this apparent conflict for many years now with success. Even Wolverine kid says that being part of the Big 10 football culture is great fun.

But my final words? GO BUCKS!!

I just finished reading most of this thread, so I thought I might add my story. I'm about a hundred posts in, so it's about damn time anyways.

I'm a teenager born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area with a lot of family in the Dayton area. My father spent nine years at OSU for undergrad and veterinary school. He is not a huge sports fan, but it was my trips to visit family in Ohio that first exposed me to the Buckeyes.

My earliest Ohio State memory is of watching the Rose Bowl against Jake the Snake in '97 when I was of just a few moons. After that, it was the '99 Sugar Bowl against Dat Nguyen and Texas A&M. My fandom really went up a notch during the 2001 Michigan game. There was a horrible storm here on the West Coast, and the power was out. My father, as if in a Superman comic book, was able to set up a little antennae TV in my room where we watched Jonathan Wells run wild that day, a truly amazing experience that provided the inspiration for my avatar today. Another unique experience came during the 2004 season in which I bet my teacher, a Michigan grad, that we would upset TSUN. When Ginn took back the punt return up the Michigan sideline, the bet was won and he was forced to wear the agreed-upon Buckeye garb for a week at school. He and I are now very close friends, and of late the rivalry has provided me with the bragging rights (thank God I wasn't old enough for the Cooper years.)

My first game in the Horseshoe consisted of ball-freezing weather and a victory over Minnesota. I've since been back for games against Washington, Northwestern, and Michigan on 11-18-06. I watched or listened to every single minute of last season, all of which culminated in one of the greatest experiences of my (albeit short, at this point) life. I will never forget the electric atmosphere throughout campus that day, and I eagerly look forward to going back to the Wisconsin game with my father later this season.

I have avidly followed recruiting since about 2004. I've felt the highs of Ted Ginn and Mike Brewster and the lows of Jason Gwaltney and Fred Davis (isn't it amazing how the lows didn't turn out so bad in the end?). After watching Maurice Clarrett on opening day against Texas Tech, I started to understand what can be gleamed from following the recruiting process. Moreover, my knowledge of Ohio geography has improved immensely from scouring over reports from players throughout the state.

I wandered over here from Scout about a year ago, began posting about month ago, and started wondering what the hell took me so long to get here about a week ago. I too am a migrant from Bucknuts, but after spending the Summer and the beginning of Fall on this side of the ledge, I don't plan on going back any time soon.

I go to high school here in San Jose and while I don't know where I'll go to college yet, it will assuredly bring me closer to my Bucks, to which I am definitely looking forward.
If you have read this far, thank you for your time and :gobucks3::gobucks4:.
