Sound Off !!! - Introduce Yourself

Hmm. Well, I have been a lurker and a responder. Once or twice a thread starter, but I hope, someone who was able to take the next logical progression of thought.

I have been a Buckeye since birth. I have been to as many games as an infant as I have been in my adult life. My travels have taken me across the country and to the far reaches of our continent, but I have remained true to tOSU. I was enrolled in 94-95, but decided that it was just too much. Hats off to all of the people who graduated. I decided on a smaller U. Much smaller. U of Alaska-Fairbanks. Choose your battles I suppose, or at the very least, "what are you prepared to do?!"

Ostracized for most of my life due to my affiliation with tOSU, die hard and intently following every year, I bleed scarlet and grey.

Better late than never I suppose. I grew up a third generation military brat in West Texas. My Grandfather was from Columbus and earned a degree there shortly after WWII. I became a Buckeye fan due in part to his memoribilia collection and a 1981 pilgrimmage in the early 1980's to The Shoe.

I can remember watching bowl games every year with him. (At the time that was the only way to see them play.) Anyway, I was hooked for life the first time I felt the pulse of that stadium. When he passed in 1984 he left his entire collection to me. I still have the chest filled with programs, autographs, and two ticket stubs from the 1969 Rose Bowl. After the National Championship I flew out to El Paso to put a block O flower arrangement on his grave.

I went to college at Wright State in Ohio and am now flying the colors in South GA.

Well, I've been following this board for years. This looks like a great place to make my first post.

Born in Canton in '65, family moved me to Newark when I was 3, and I went on to play football for Licking Valley. Since then, I've lived in 15 states, served 4 years in the Navy (Gulf War Vet), and currently live just south of Portland, Oregon.

I've followed The Buckeyes since the day I was born, and can't remember a time when I wasn't passionate about them. I have a 13 year old son, who, although born in Oregon, is probably the biggest Ohio State fan under the age of 20 in the state. I'm not trying to be too biased, but he's turning heads as an offensive and defensive lineman for his school team, and his ultimate goal is to get a scholarship from tOSU and play for coach Tress.

I started watching OSU football when b/w tv was the only option, but I've never been to a game. That's all about to change though as I picked up 3 tickets for the Washington game. I'll be on the 30 yd. line, 2nd deck, home side of the field, with my son and wife, all of us completely decked out in OSU garb. This is truly a big moment for us.

Our family goal is to attend a game at the Shoe, and someday we will. For now, we'll be content to turn Husky stadium into the Horseshoe West for one day in September. It will be a great day to be a Buckeye fan.

Go Bucks!!!

Good to be here.

This looks like a great forum for Buckeyes, anywhere on the planet!

I'm living in SEC country now but I get to see the Bucks play with about three or four hundred other crazy Buckeye faithful every week at our Atlanta alumni/booster club!

What the heck why not introduce myself.
I was born and raised south of Youngstown. I spent most of my youth playing football and all of it being a huge buckeye fan. After a relatively succesful senior year of football at a d-6 high school I had some offers from DII, DIII, and a couple D1-AA schools but I fell in love with the campus of Miami University and opted to concentrate on academics and save myself knee problems. A suprise schollie from a D-IA school would have been the only thing that would have changed my mind, or a full academic scholarship to OSU. But unfortunately there isn't a big demand for 5'11'' centers in big school football

However in my heart I've always been a buckeye guy. I'd go to the hockey games at Miami just to watch my bucks. I always rooted for the bucks over the hawks while at school. (Thank God I graduated before the 2005 game that would have sucked being in the Oxford B-dubs).

I'm currently in my last year of course work on my second degree, this one at KSU. After Graduation I will probably be headed to NYC (my fiancee is a theatre grant writer/musical theatre teacher) to teach and hopefully coach football... :osu:

Hello. I am new to the forum. I have been browsing for about 2 weeks and decided to become a member. Seems like a great group here. I am an '87 grad of OSU and I've been a Buckeye fan since I was 10. I know this is a short intro but I have to get up in 4 hours to go to work but I wanted to get my avatar setup - dedication!! BTW the plate is real and I have had it since 2001.

GO BUCKS!!
