Sound Off !!! - Introduce Yourself

Born and raised in the Columbus metro area (1983 Westerville South grad), and I have been a die hard Buckeye fan for as long as I can remember. I was in grade school when OSU lost to USC in the Rose Bowl -- the year that Sam "Bam" Cunningham kept jumping over from the 1 yard line. Even I knew what was coming! I was sent to my room for kicking the TV (which was on a rolling stand) into the Christmas tree. So as you can see, my fanaticism started early! I went to college at Wittenberg University, as I though OSU was just a bit too big....and I wanted to go "away" to school. After college I came back to Columbus, briefly lived in Charlotte NC, then came back to the Columbus area (Lewis Center, hence the "LC"Buck). I'm a bigger fan than my husband, who actually graduated from tOSU. I give him a break since he isn't from Ohio. I can't wait for another great season!

Well, I've been following this board for years. This looks like a great place to make my first post.

Born in Canton in '65, family moved me to Newark when I was 3, and I went on to play football for Licking Valley. Since then, I've lived in 15 states, served 4 years in the Navy (Gulf War Vet), and currently live just south of Portland, Oregon.

I've followed The Buckeyes since the day I was born, and can't remember a time when I wasn't passionate about them. I have a 13 year old son, who, although born in Oregon, is probably the biggest Ohio State fan under the age of 20 in the state. I'm not trying to be too biased, but he's turning heads as an offensive and defensive lineman for his school team, and his ultimate goal is to get a scholarship from tOSU and play for coach Tress.

I started watching OSU football when b/w tv was the only option, but I've never been to a game. That's all about to change though as I picked up 3 tickets for the Washington game. I'll be on the 30 yd. line, 2nd deck, home side of the field, with my son and wife, all of us completely decked out in OSU garb. This is truly a big moment for us.

Our family goal is to attend a game at the Shoe, and someday we will. For now, we'll be content to turn Husky stadium into the Horseshoe West for one day in September. It will be a great day to be a Buckeye fan.

Go Bucks!!!

There seem to be a number of us out here in the "Find Your Cause" State.

My wife and I moved out here in 2005, and I ran into a couple fans every now and then.

This is my first post (of many, hopefully), and it's a pleasure to "meet" another fan in Oregon.

I'm in Salem, btw.

Muffler Dragon. Love the name.

Welcome to the Sunshine State. I got here in '90, and though I love calling Ohio home, this is where I'm staying for the duration.

Looks like we're in the same county. I live in the metropolis of Donald (Didn't mention that before 'cause even Oregonians don't know where this mini-town is). Although I do most of my Buck's watching at home, we'll have to meet up someday at a sports establishment in Salem...there has to be one in that town somewhere.

I've lived in Ohio (three times), Michigan (once), North Carolina (twice), and I also love Oregon the most. Beautiful state.

Sounds good to me. I'm actually in Keizer, and that puts our exits a whole 18 miles apart.

Hmmm....I'm not "new" to the site but I didn't post in this thread when I joined, so you get to read me now instead....seems like a good time since football season is nearly underway again, and I used to post semi-frequently for a while but I haven't even looked at the site for several months now, as I've been about 8,000 miles from home and hi-speed Internet all summer (Singapore is awesome, by the way), and I'm gonna end this sentence now because it's too long. So you're probably wondering what in the name of Bo and Woody is a Michigan fan doing here. Last fall when Bo passed away, I was curious (maybe kind of a morbid curiosity) to see what the reactions were from the fans of our biggest rival. I stumbled across this site and read the thread on Bo, and to my utter astonishment, it was about 10 pages of solid class. I was expecting at least a few rot-in-hell posts - maybe the mods deleted some, I dunno, but whatever - every single post was respectful and classy. Since then I've yet to find a board that even comes close to the quality of discussion around here. So I stuck around. I am, by the way, a diehard fan not only of Michigan, but Virginia as well (graduated from there) which comes in handy during basketball season.

Great! Let's get that Oregon pipeline opened up...

I'm not new here either, but I haven't posted a lot...

HTM, I agree with you on the class that's shown on this board, I think it's a very good example of 'real' tOSU fans and their 'true' attitudes.

I've been a buckeye forever... I remember my brother having me down for a weekend and taking me to the 'shoe for the first time.... He said 'This is what it's all about...' I got chills. The skull session was incredible and I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of... I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts last year and I'm looking forward to an exciting 2007 season!

I thank God I'm a Buckeye!
Go Bucks!

New guy

Hey everyone. I registered right after I found this website, a former 50 yardliner.

real quick intro... Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio... lived there for 10 years then moved all over the states there to settle down in chattanooga, tennessee. I am currently at East Tennessee State University listening to every webcast I can get my hands on.

19 years of age and a huge buckeye fan....living in sec country is tough but I defend my team no matter what (even after last year :tongue2: )

Good to see some other buckeyes, hope to return to the great state of Ohio for a game this year! GO BUCKS

:oh:
