Sound Off !!! - Introduce Yourself

Whats up everybody? I found out about this board from a good friend who is a member. I graduated from OSU in March of 2004, seems so long ago. I now live in Chicago. I live for saturdays during the fall when all of us buckeyes get together and take over a bar.

This year I am attending the following games: @Texas, Penn State, @Illinois, @Northwestern and Michigan.

Should be a great year and look forwarding to enjoying it with all of you!

GO BUCKS!!!

what up wood! welcome. i will really miss the saturdays that we used to take over casey morans, and my drunk ass doing script ohio! i live in chi town as well but will be moving to NYC in six weeks. any buckeyes in NYC please PM me so I can get the heads up on places to watch the games. i was born a buckeye and always have stayed a buckeye. some of my favorite buckeye memories are when i lived in arizona and my dad taking to me to hanratty's even though i was only 13. living so far away and still being such a huge fan really makes you appreciate what you've got when u get to go to a game. all you c-bus residents and current students, i hope you guys appreciate what you've got. i have my plane ticket to austin and can't wait to party in their stadium the way they did in the shoe last year.

Eh, apparently I neglected to introduce myself on this thread when I joined a while back, so here goes.

I'm the son of a football coach who made sure from day one that I was a Buckeye fan. Because of my dad being a coach we were able to regularly attend Buckeye games for as long as I can remember which only amde me more of a fan every year. I attended Northmont HS (back when the football program was awful...thank god my dad never stooped so low to coach there during the 80's and 90's) and graduated in '92. Wanting to get as far away from Dayton, OH as I could, I made sure to enroll at Ohio State where I went on to graduate with the easiest and most useless business degree possible...marketing. While there my brother (who also is a Buckeye grad) I did some work with the athletic department which was a dream come true for a piece of Dayton trash. I also met a certain doctorb who is without a doubt the most loyal Buckeye and Cincinnati Bengal fan I have ever known. After graduating I went to work for a Columbus based insurance company and eventually accepted a job in their Cincinnati office. I went on to meet my wife and rescue her from the shithole that is Cincinnati's west side. We now live in Madeira where we all believe we're better than everyone else in Cincinnati (except for Indian Hill folks of course) with our smelly-assed basset hound and, thankfully, no kids. My brother and I still make it back to the Horseshoe for each home game with my parents and a few road games every season (eh, just one road game this year b/c the sister-in-law is pregnant and due midseason). It's safe to say that I'm still am in awe of the spectacle that is a football gameday in Columbus every time I'm there.

Just found this thread for the first time, thought I should give it go. I grew up in the shadows of the shoe (Upper Arlington) and been a Buckeye ever since I remember seeing my first favorite athlete, Joey Galloway. I always wanted his autograph, but never could get it, that all changed when I was in the 8th grade and given the amazing chance to shadow the newly hired Jim Tressle. Joey was at the practice I got to witness and needless to say I jumped on my opportunity to get his autograph. Amazingly so as well, the legend himself Jim Brown was on campus that exact time I shadowed Tressle and he was giving an inspirational talk to the team, it was simply unreal to be in the presence of Mr. Brown and I still believe I should have gone to the hospital right after that day of shadowing because Mr. Brown's grip is bone crushing!

Anyways enough of that memory, I am now currently attending OU down in Athens, was turned down from tOSU (but hold no grudge - OU has a wonderful campus, it just would have been nice to have been able to pay about 22 times less for my Texas ticket last year! - I'll let any math wizzes who know current student ticket pricing at tOSU to figure that # out, as it was quite the pocket puncher...). I followed tOSU ever since that first time when Joey ran past me onto the field, and I watched the modern greats such as Bobby Hoying, Joe Germaine, Eddie George, Orlando Pace, Terry Glenn, David Boston, The Big Kat, Doss, etc.

Just to mention as well, I was raised a buckeye from the get go because both my parents graduated from tOSU in the '70's and have made sure that I know how evil the wolverines truly are. Currently I enjoy making highlight tapes (started with the 2004 season) for some of my friends and family to help spread the reasons to why I love tOSU football so much.

Finally I fell in love with buckeye recruiting when I would catch updates here and then about the amazing 2002 class, so I thought I'd begin to follow things for myself, and I then began penciling in wish lists, and organzing target lists of my own for the 2004 class and have since then been an avid buckeye football and basketball recruiting fan. I joined BN's around February 2004 and then was invited to come here in early 2005, I haven't posted too much because I was just getting the feel of how things are run here as compared to other sites and I must say this has been my saving grace when it comes to recruiting boards. I just can't stand BN's anymore, although I frequent it sometimes here and there, but I mostly use BP for all my recruiting info.

Well thanks again for the invite to this place and I look forward to being able to adding as much as I can to this site! Go Bucks!

The details of my life are quite inconsequential.

Born and raised in Reno, Nevada.

Undergraduate at Ohio State (history & russian studies)

Masters in International Affairs from the University of Chicago

I currently live in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood where a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaves my testicles on the third Tuesday of each month.

Hiyas! Let's see. I registered here ohhh about a year ago. I normally lurk on forums. But, I am trying to turn a new leaf and actually post.

Anyways, I live in Indiana by South Bend. *does the snoopy dance because we beat ND.* I was born and raised in Marion, Ohio. I can remember sitting down beside my dad when I was four and watching The Bucks play. My mother had to yell at my dad a few times because I would repeat what he said. Something about a four year old cursing at the TV made my mom pretty upset.

We moved to Indiana when I was 13 and been here ever since. I married an Indiana man, who I convinced to turn a leaf and love the Buckeyes nearly as much as I do. We have two beautiful girls, who tells everyone that will listen, that tOSU rocks.

On Saturday's in the fall we spend the time watching the games, and I teach my lovely children a new vocab that makes my husband cringe. I blame my dad for that.

Now, I am not going to tell anyone that I know all about football, nor that I am some sort of expert on college football on a whole.

I am more of a smash-mouth-knock-the-crap-out-of-them-kinda-football fan. I love nothing better than an excellent defense and a good offense. Anyways, that is me. I can't wait to dig into the post here. :)
