Sound Off !!! - Introduce Yourself

Hiyas! Let's see. I registered here ohhh about a year ago. I normally lurk on forums. But, I am trying to turn a new leaf and actually post.

Anyways, I live in Indiana by South Bend. *does the snoopy dance because we beat ND.* I was born and raised in Marion, Ohio. I can remember sitting down beside my dad when I was four and watching The Bucks play. My mother had to yell at my dad a few times because I would repeat what he said. Something about a four year old cursing at the TV made my mom pretty upset.

We moved to Indiana when I was 13 and been here ever since. I married an Indiana man, who I convinced to turn a leaf and love the Buckeyes nearly as much as I do. We have two beautiful girls, who tells everyone that will listen, that tOSU rocks.

On Saturday's in the fall we spend the time watching the games, and I teach my lovely children a new vocab that makes my husband cringe. I blame my dad for that.

Now, I am not going to tell anyone that I know all about football, nor that I am some sort of expert on college football on a whole.

I am more of a smash-mouth-knock-the-crap-out-of-them-kinda-football fan. I love nothing better than an excellent defense and a good offense. Anyways, that is me. I can't wait to dig into the post here. :)

Good to have you aboard. Don't be a stranger.

Hello, All!

Yeah I guess I'm the new guy here. Though I'm not so new. I visit these forums almost every day. I've read all the threads. (Even the ENTIRE Game 2 vs UT thread). I would just like to take the opportunity to introduce myself and I'm sure I will enjoy discussing Ohio State football with you all. You all seem like intellecutal individuals and seem to know what you're talking about. So hello and I hope you enjoy me being here as much as I'm sure I'll enjoy talking to you all.

Here's to the Buckeye Planet

It's taken a while to post here on Buckeye Planet. I first have to say thanks for being here. You guys provide a much needed quenching to my thirsting of anything Buckeye. I grew up in NE Ohio on Buckeye sports. My first memory is the early 70's with Cornelius, Archie, and others. I went to tOSU in the eighties graduating in 89. Married a girl I meet in Classics 222. She graduated in 91. We bounced around the country and are now in central NY. We have two children 9 and 14 who can sing the fight song with the best of them. We took our oldest to her first game last year. She is a good athlete in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. She wants to be a Buckeye, hopefully she will.

Mind you I am not much of a cat lover but my name comes from having a gray cat named Jake who loved to sleep next to me while watching Buckeye games. Have no clue how he survived through all the games especially during the NC year and especially the Purdue game. He has since moved to a better section to watch Buckeye football. Miss the little guy.
Well this season is taking on a new meaning. Whether we win it all, I just hope. My wife comes from a Buckeye family too. Her father, Bob, who I admire a ton went to tOSU and so did her brother. My best memory is the four of us attending the first game the seaon after winning the NC. Still feel the electricity on my arms when the team ran onto the field. Bob and I always end our conversations on the phone with a hearty "GO BUCKS!" During the season I can always count on the first call after a Buckeye win from Bob with a "We had them all the way!" Bob was diagnosed with cancer this past spring. As any true scarlet bleeding Buckeye would do, he held off the start of chemo/radiation until after the Spring Game. We traveled from NY and took him and the rest of my wife's family. They used to attend the Spring Games back when only a small crowd showed. Now after some rough months of chemo and radiation things are looking up for Bob. Hmmm....Karma, I think so. As luck or karma would have it his Penn State tickets have turned into the UM tickets. Bob offered them to me to go with my wife's brother. As much as I would love to go, I had to decline but he wouldn't let me. To appease us both I instead told him that if the weather is nice and he is up for the task he is going to watch our Bucks beat the snout out of UM. Otherwise I will reluctantly but proudly go in his place. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really don't want to go to "The GAME" this year.

I guess I have rambled far too long. I usually don't like to write but with the season coming on and with what has gone on the past few months I just felt the need to connect with my fellow Buckeyes and tell you all thanks. This also goes to the Texas guys too (Yes even xray). I have enjoyed the sparring. Thanks for talking Buckeye football. My wish this season is to be able to answer the phone call in January from Bob and hear him say "We had them all the way!" in Arizona of course!
