Some BCS facts for your SEC friends

Cool, glad you guys liked the chart...

Even more ammo... Mississippi St is blowing out Kentucky AT Kentucky right now. The same Miss. State team that was blown out at West Virginia last week and the same Miss. State team that beat Auburn. We'll see if it holds up, but still, seriously.... come on now.

And the same Kentucky team that beat "the best team in the nation", LSU.

Hahaha it's actually really hard because I'm usually a good speller, so I have to think of how a real southerner would talk.

Then again, I've had so much time to listen to it. Did you guys know that the SEC is the toughest conference? I wasn't sure if you knew. Just a heads-up

2 questions:

1. Did anyone notice that the great Vanderbilt team, that would be undefeated if it played in the B10, struggled mightily with Miami of Ohio today? You would have had to notice on your own because the fucking SEC loving media sure as hell didn't bring it up. They are too busy telling us that UF is now the best 3 loss team in the country.

2. If South Carolina and Spurrier played in a conference as soft as the B10 would their place kicker be able to kick straight?

The SEC is probably better than any conference in the NFC. Mississippi State would go undefeated in any other BCS conference. Kentucky's offense right now is better than anyone than in the Big 10, Big East or Big 12. Brent Schaeffer would be an all conference QB in the Big 10. South Carolina's kicker is a better athlete than anyone in Big 10. OSU would be lucky to win the Sun Belt with all that southern speed and the SEC's number 2 guys. Terry Porter, McSweatervest, BCS title game, MoC, Aids Awareness :atom:

This pretty much what I've gathered lurking SEC/ACC message boards

In other news, It seems as though Mississippi State has entered the race for the National Championship. Their win over their herculian SEC, sorry for being redundant, rival Kentucky legitimizes them as just another of the 11 teams from the conference that are capable of knocking anyone in the country off. Mississippi is the lone team that has not stepped up to the stellar play of their peers. This win only proves once again what a war the battle for the SEC crown is. If the polls cannot recognize these losses for what they are and place a 3 loss team in the National Championship we can at least suffice with the game that we all know will feature the best teams in the nation, the SEC championship.

Let me start off by saying that I honestly think the SEC is overall stronger than the big10 this year. Meaning if you took the best 11 teams from the SEC vs the top 11 teams in the big 10, the SEC would win more than half. When the top 2 teams in your conference go into their respective bowl games and get their doors blown off your not going to get very much respect, because you dont deserve it. If people want to argue that the big 10 is down because of what happened in the bowl games, or what happened OOC this year, I can understand that, and like I said before I would probably agree with them. What I dont like to hear, and what doesnt make any since to me is that when a SEC team beats another SEC team, its because the "SEC is solid", and "anyone can beat anyone". When a big 10 team beats another big 10 team, its because "the whole big 10 sucks", and "none of them are any good, they all just lose to eachother". This doesnt make any since to me, when one team in a conference wins another looses. The net result for a conference game for the conference is .500. A conference game proves nothing about the strength of a conference. If you want to say the SEC is better, il hear that argument, just make sure you base it on bowl games, or out of conference games.

Lol.....funny thread.

As an LSU fan, and a fan of the SEC, it's funny to see bitching about the national media from outside eyes. For years we've bitched about USC being shoved down our throat 24/7 by ESPN, and if not USC, the resurgence of the Mighty Irish under the direction of the best college football coach to ever step on the sidelines. With options 1 & 2 gone, I guess the SEC HAS stepped in and filled the role of media darlings this year. I haven't really noticed it until reading this thread, but they do seem to be hyping the SEC more than usual. Probably started around the end of the MNC game last year.

As far as the Big Ten vs SEC, or SEC vs Any BCS Conference debate goes....

My take is that the top teams from any of the major conferences would have a hard time beating each other. Everyone at that level has speed, you have to have it in order to be able to compete at that level. It's just been portrayed as SEC speed b/c of the meltdown OSU had in the MNC last year. A bad game that was magnified b/c of the national stage it was on. Play that game 10 times and I don't think Florida wins by that kind of a point margin (or even remotely close) again. Of course this is just my opinion. What do I know? I'm an SEC fan. =)

No the speed remarks didn't come from Florida. I think we have a thread on it, if someone could help me out. That fun fact has been around for a while and it got rehashed while ESPN was trying to hype the OSU Florida game. When we lost it kinda reaffirmed it and now as far as we know there is a speed gene swimming around in the SEC pool. It would be funny if it weren't an insult to our conference or speak volumes of the American education system.

Well, as a Southern male, I'm not allowed to speak about, much less reveal, the source of the speed gene. It's something we've tried to keep secret for awhile now, unfortunately ESPN has ruined it for us. I fear an investigation of sorts is under way as we speak and will be covered in the next episode of "Outside the Lines". Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

The Scout Gator board doesn't seem too concerned with their loss to UGA. Ten of the fourteen most-recently active threads are about how SEC teams would wax tOSU or the general superiority of the SEC. Examples:

OSU vs. LSU...PLEASE !!!!
I am guessing 99.99% still believe Fla would wax Ohio State this year!!

Delusion is not exclusive to ND fans.
