This is surreal. 7 years of paying our dues for a generation renewed excellence. This is the biggest thing to happen to Michigan football since the hiring of Bo. And this happened because of the immense love and tradition for the school that its alumni develop over the years. It's something special that not all alumni of other schools understand. It's the Michigan Difference. And, boy, what a great day to be a Michigan Wolverine. Hail.

No offense to Bo, but this is probably a bigger hire than that.

This could be one of the biggest hires in college football history. Plucking a proven NFL coach in the prime of his career back to the college ranks. Even when Saban came to Alabama, he was pretty darn mediocre at Miami.

If this all proves to be true, it will be damn near poetic for Michigan. We've been wandering the desert for years, lost our way after losing the program patriarch, and have just been flat out abused by our rivals. We were, and still currently are, a broken shell of our former selves. Trapped in the past and tearing ourselves apart from within. Starved for leadership and unity.

And just when things seem to be at their darkest, the prodigal son comes home to lead his alma mater back to where it belongs. To tell our rivals that enough is enough. To unite the factions and lead the charge forward into a new era.

I don't know what the future holds as far as beating MSU or OSU. Guys like Meyer will not be intimidated by Harbaugh. His teams will still be damn good and a tough out. But this hire means that both Meyer and Dantonio are put on notice. We're not going to be their damn punching bag anymore.

The sleeping giant has been awoken, my friends.

And none of them could imagine the levels of fun they were about to have: the sleepovers, the weight room dance videos, the European vacations, the beatdowns, the complete lack of quarterbacks.
