I would find nothing funnier than if Jimmy was told he was a candidate, or even the leading candidate, and took that as a the job was a lock. Thus the ‘leaks’ he is leaving for the Vikings. He interviews today. No news. In coming days, Vikings interview other candidates. TTUN fans and players are left in limbo. Jimmy doesn’t get the job. Then Ross swoops in and makes Jimmy the Dolphins coach, which is going to be shitshow after the fallout from the Flores lawsuit.

Not sure how any writer could defend Hairball's decision, and how he's choosing to leave his alma mater in a worse off position. At least all of OSU's coaches have left trying to make smooth transitions of power. Hairball is giving a middle finger to the program and fanbase all at once.

18 years as a HC, including 4 in the NFL where he was 44-19-1 with a SB appearance

vs.

A guy with no HC experience and 3 years coordinating defenses in which his teams allowed 25.9 ppg.

I'm not saying Simple Jim is the right hire, or even a good HC anymore, but if the question of "why?" comes up, the two aren't even really comparable on paper. I think they'll be ok.
