SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

If by “next year” you mean they will always be pointing to “next year”, then yeah, I’ll agree. They will never be pointing to this year. As my previous post states, TTUN’s days of relevance are gone. They are Tennessee with the additional baggage of arrogance and without a real Natty since 1948.

One, he does not always make the best choices in assistant coaches. Yes, this happens to the best of them (*cough* Tim Beck *cough*), however, the issue with Harbrau is his unwillingness to make moves when there are issues on his coaching staff. Greg Roman had as much to do with torpedoing his SF tenure as anything else. The man was a one-trick pony as an OC, and could not adapt with Kaepernick at OC. By year three, his offense was seriously damaged, and by year four, it was hard broken. He stuck with him til the end, and it cost him that 2014 season, and ultimately his job (along with some personality issues).
To expand on this...he has his SON, who has no experience coaching them, coaching the RBs this year. RB play has been...not great. One of the more popular gripes on scUM boards this season is their RBs inability to pick up blitzes. That's directly on coaching. His Co-OCs are curious hires. Tim Drevno is a solid OL coach going back to his time at Stanford and in SF. He was Co-OC at scUM in 2015-16, is now their OC and is getting much of the blame for this year's disaster. Seems to be a case of over-promotion Ed Warriner style. Tim Drevno makes $1M a year. When Jedd Fisch bolted for UCLA after last season, Jimbo brought in Pep Hamilton fresh off of a 1-15 season as Passing Game Coordinator for the Browns. He's earning $1M a year to be scUM's PGC and associate head coach. Their passing game is a disaster. So, they're paying $2M a year to their OC and PGC to preside over one of the worst offenses in CFB. Brilliant!

Meh, while they may fawn on Jimmy a bit too much, I think the article is generally on point. The point of the article is that if Jimmy doesn’t do it, it’s because that program up there is no longer relevant. The article basically suggests exactly what this board has been stating for years, and that is that TTUN hasn’t really been relevant in college football since the inception of the forward pass.

Personally, I look forward to yet another failure by Jimmy, and then him bolting to another program where he has some success. Meanwhile TTUN will continue to be mired in mediocrity. And it will be obvious that this mediocrity is permanent. And there will be no more reason for the arrogance they have assumed for so long. I welcome this day.

You've forgotten to add the obligatory bitching about all the problems that got in the way of his success while at his previous employer. That's going to be the icing on the cake because, in his stay in AA, he's had more free reign than a free range
jive-
turkey on the day after Thanksgiving.

Probably total BS, but watching them turn on their savior after three-plus years of fellating him non-stop would be delicious.
This is one of those self- starting rumors, but it could get interesting. The man who negotiated such a mammoth contract clearly viewed himself as a messiah and much of his behavior indicates he believes he is free to do as he pleases. When the crowd turns and the fun stops he may want to reconsider his options.

Still, what has he done that would make an NFL team interested?

Well, suffice it to say, if he knows what’s good for him, he knows that coming to Chicago ain’t it. Between the shit-show that is that team and the stooopid fans, this place would be the fryer after leaving the frying pan that is AA.

The wolvies are the only thing that matters in AA. The Bears are about the 80th most important thing in Chicago. With the exception of the older adult males, no one in this city has ever heard of John Fox.
