I see this comment all the time from lots of folks who post. I have the notion that they are also the same folks who look at any given team - this year Washington, Clemson, aTm, - that threatened OSU's spot in the top five/playoff rankings and said, "They haven't played anybody, their schedule is weak," etc, etc. They are also the same folks who justify the Bucks being in the playoffs, "because we beat Okie, Wiscy, and Michigan, while Washington played OOC cupcakes and got their ass handed to them by USC," or "Clemson? Who'd they play OOC, and the rest of the ACC was Kibbles."
The Bucks either need SOS or they don't, you can't have it both ways, especially if you don't get into your CCG.
They, along with the rest of the B1G were on the seat of their ass and a national laughing stock from 2007-2014. During that same period OSU played for 2 NC's in that time and won 1. The brand was never stronger.
That is a unequivocal data point, not an opinion. OSU needs to win it's big OOC games, that's it. They control their own destiny when they do that.
If the B1G is good it only makes going undefeated harder. There is no marginal utility in a strong B1G for OSU. It's pure risk.

Might be nice if Urbs sticks around for 10 more years to change the record vs TTUN.I want them to suck long enough for us to pass them in all time wins, since that is their primary rebuttal to any discussion or argument.

Edit: oops, I missed the next page of responses... what jaxbuck said.

If Ohio State wins all of its games they are in the playoffs every single time no matter what.We need a strong conference. We don't necessarily need a strong UM. If Wiscy and either Corn or Iowa along with 2 of UM/MSU/Ped are strong that's great. Personally, I would rather see Michigan good than the pedsters.
As for not needing a strong conference, we barely got in in 2014--we needed the Big 12 to get cute and not declare a champion hoping to get two in AND 59-0. We very easily could have been left out. And you can look at Oklahoma this year being steadily behind the 2-loss Big Ten teams and having no chance to move up because their conference was a dumpster fire with no chance for any signature wins after their early OOC stumbles. I'd add that we're in over the BTC precisely because the conference was strong this year, and we had the opportunity for multiple signature wins in it. If Wiscy, Corn and UM are all crap, the committee takes the winner of the championship game.

If Ohio State drops some games, other factors become more important.
I say Ohio State should just win all its games and then we don't need to worry about it.
