@cincibuck

Again you are buying into the hype machine.

Here are my questions:
1. What has he won? ever?
2. If the name of his team was MSU with the exact same credentials would you think they should be talked about going to NC game.
3. Comparing Harball to Woody is insulting and ridiculous, Woody was a classic and a closer, Harball has proven to be nothing more than an eccentric loon who can win games but not big games
4. And one more time. What has he won? What results has he had that makes you think he is a closer? A C-L-O-S-E-R.......(SLOW MOTION)
5. The fact is he is a BO clone so far, can win games and bully teams, but can not coach a team game day and make the adjustments in game to win the big games.

I am all for given him credit for being a good coach who can take bad teams and make them relevant quickly. But he has issues. It is either he lacks the patience and faith to win key big games, he lacks the emotional maturity needed to win big games, or he just can not coach big moments. All of his losses at SCum (except UTAH which I do not remember) have either been an arse whooping or getting completely out coached and dominated in the 4th quarter.

My initial thoughts are that he wants to win so badly that he plays not to lose at the end of games and stops coaching. That he is overcome with the game anxiety and is not maintaining the proper perspective. It is as if his emotional need to win and be called a winner makes him unable to perform in big games. This of course can change and he can mature and learn this skill. But right now I have seen ZERO and I do mean ZERO evidence that he is capable of that level of maturity. The guys so wants recruits to like him he is sleeping on kids floors and acting like he is a 16 year old male at times. And then other times is throwing tantrums that are costing his team. At the end of the day a coach coaches and players play and some coaches forget that they are not the ones winning and losing. It is there job to main the helm and keep the program sailing straight but to never get too attached to what is happening on the field. Keep calm and keep your eye on the opportunities to put the program in position to win games and grow the program.

I realize my hatred for SCum on some level clouds my judgement. But when I sit down and change the team names or in this case compare Jokes first 2 years to Harballs I begin to ask myself what is the difference besides belts sizes and personalities. Joke was so overwhelmed with SCums history that he could not function half the time. And Harball is so overwhelmed by his own narcissistic self love to have a team follow him more than 4 years.

@Greyshirt You have to understand, Cinci remembers the 10 year war and prior... and expects, not anticipates, expects scUM to be on par with OSU. Not to call him on the carpet here, but he was prone to saying similar things back in the DickRod and Fat Garbage Man days too. God love him. Oh, and he hates ND with a a passion. Which is also nice.

Personally, I wouldn't compare Bo to Jimblllo. I actually had a great deal of respect for Bo and he was one hell of a football coach. I don't give a shit if you hate ichigan appropriately as a good Buckeye should, you still cannot argue that Bo was not one of the all time great coaches.

I had respect for Bo. I wouldn't call him great. He never won the Natty. His bowl record was not strong. But, he was a good man and a good coach. He was also the epitome of a traitor - even if he was (quietly) one of Woody's best friends. Still, when I was coming of age, there was still respect to be had in the Rivalry. Now? Not so much.

Inferiority complexes breed punks...see "Spike" Bolden and GerbiLLL stomping and spitting on the Block O, and Harbrau being an XLL titty baby. They don't have shit but their antics.

Pretty sure they don't suffer from inferiority complex, more like narcissistic personality disorder;

  1. Grandiosity with expectations of superior treatment from others
  2. Fixated on fantasies of power, success, intelligence, attractiveness, etc.
  3. Self-perception of being unique, superior and associated with high-status people and institutions
  4. Needing constant admiration from others
  5. Sense of entitlement to special treatment and to obedience from others
  6. Exploitative of others to achieve personal gain
  7. Unwilling to empathize with others' feelings, wishes, or needs
  8. Intensely envious of others and the belief that others are equally envious of them
  9. Pompous and arrogant demeanor

What I don't understand is the "All In" nature of Michigan fans for each new head coach (since Bo). I understand they want a return to national prominence, but they can't wait to anoint each new head coach before results are had on the field. They go so far in defending them before the expected results, that they have no choice but to back them until the collapse. Don't recall this so much happening for Moeller, but his drunk and disorderly conduct meant he wasn't around that long anyway. Lloyd was fine for them (especially the NC) until Tressel came along. Then he suddenly sucked. Rick Rod ... savior ... until he sucked. Hoke, more of the same ... great, aaaaannd he sucks too! Harbaugh? More of the same. I get it, he's the closest thing they will have to Bo being resurrected ... but he's just not Bo. Frankly his "schtick" should be a huge warning sign. This isn't the 60s and 70s anymore. Bo would have changed with the times and adjusted just as college football has changed. I get the Wolverine fans are nostalgic for the good old "Bo days", but they need a leader, not a Bo tribute band. Guy can't control his emotions and certainly can't keep his cool or hold his tongue.

In that regard, I thought it would be interesting to see what else he can't hold ...

This one is easy ... Jimmy can't hold that.
