SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

I see your point, but I'd add that I'd like to see HairbaLL sustain success anywhere. It's been the quick turnaround for a year or two and then out the door, with I might add the former employer more than happy to watch those overstuffed (ass not dick) khakis head on down the road.
Oh, I agree. I guess I was commenting more on the overall lack of quality college coaches right now.

Coaches that are as good or better than Harbawll IMHO
Saban
Meyer
Dantonio
Kevin Wilson
Ferentz (maybe, his highs are higher but his lows are pretty damned low)
Richt
Herman
Niumatalolo
Fisher
Swinney
Petrino
Stoops
Peterson
Leach
Gundy
Whittingham
Shaw
Beilema
L Smith
Patterson
Snyder
Dennis Erickson is still kicking around. Dude's got two more national championships than Harbaugh will ever have.

Harrison: Jim Harbaugh & Bitterly Disappointed Michigan
By Phil Harrison 10 hours ago

Jim Harbaugh was brought to Michigan to restore the winning ways in Ann Arbor, but so far what has followed him is a three-ring circus with little regard for sportsmanship. Saturday was just the latest example of the baggage the Michigan brass may have to continue to deal with.

That was a typo, its whining ways. He has succeeded.

Good read, but I wish these guys would do their research.

Buying his khakis at the Gap - indeed.

i really have to applaud harbaugh in creating the postgame atmosphere. the sleight of hand is impressive. his tabloid-worthy rants have shifted the discussions about the true reasons for the loss (see: player mistakes and coaching decisions) almost completely to the officiating. he knows the media and he knows his blue idolators.

i can't wait to witness his shuckery next november.

@Woody1968

In college football:

Dantonio has been solid but that is my guy, and a homer pick (think of him as a Tressel lite)

But sticking with active coaches:

Stoops at Oklahoma
Fisher at FSU (yes, but he won a NC)
Dabo at Clemson yeah he is goofy also
Peterson at Washington (is he off Urban tree?)
Mike Leach (Ok a reach but he is my guilty pleasure, a complete nut job but gets it done)
Les Miles I truly believe he is better, guy could rally a team, a vintage player coach for sure

1. I've got negatives from a game I photographed in 71 with Woody breaking the yard line markers across his knee. He went after the refs in the press conference too. Maybe Hairball, who was coached by that other colossal whiner, Bo, picked up a little extra from the master.
2. How many of the aforementioned coaches had their team in the NC conversation by their second year with a program?
3. How many of the aforementioned coaches had their team ranked 3rd going into the final game of the season? Stoops, Beilema - I think that's it.
4. How many coaches have won 20 games with QBs at the Ruddock and Speight level? Guy just may be a QB whisperer

To be fair you have to look at where the Michigan program was just three years ago and where it is now. Now it becomes a question of if he can recruit at their level and at Meyer's. So far that hasn't been the case.

Of course we also now get to ask if he can get an NC in three years like a couple of coaches I've heard about.

How many of those other coaches had scUM's resources and recruiting chops to begin with? Yes, he has a good a good job of making the on the field product better, but many of the coaches I named have IMHO done just as well if taking what those programs started with into consideration. He is very good at making shitty QBs look decent. But that team was recruiting in the top 10 every year before he got there.
