I'd say if osu is 5-2 coming into that Northwestern game, they are doing pretty well.
Oklahoma will be tough but I doubt Franklin will have a good PSU team next year. I have no idea about Wisconsin but they weren't so good this year and I don't think Chryst is a good coach. We have Urban. While we may have less talent then this year we aren't going to be talentless. Urban doesn't lose much.

Three?

Oklahoma consistently chokes in big games. @sharty will be a revenge game and osu will be rolling by the end of the season and you get Michigan at home. Not really seeing 3 losses there when Urb reloads, as opposed to rebuilds. No other games are really that scary

I don't know how strong some of these teams are expected to come back, but the only guaranteed wins on that schedule are Tulsa, Rutgers, IU and Maryland. Everyone else could give Ohio State a game, so three losses rolling into Michigan week is not out of the question.

If only Urban Meyer had the foresight to recruit elite athletes every year, Ohio State could have a chance to win games in reloading years against some of the perennial powerhouses on that list.

Once Ohio State can be consistently dangerous and not just have a shot at a title once every 4-5 years they can be mentioned in the same breath as Wisconsin, Penn State and all the other heavy weights on the schedule next year.

now i know road games against Power 5 teams are always difficult but please dont overrate oklahoma...they are still a part of the Big 12 which is glorified arena ball

Are you saying Bowling Green is not a sure fire win?

I'd say OU is the one team on that list for which all the pessimism is warranted. they are extremely young and bring back damn near everyone.

Bowling fucking Green on the other hand.....

I will take Ohio State's chances with any team on that list road or home

they all lose starters as well, the notion that they will somehow replace their departing starters with better players than Ohio State will is kind of a new one to me

lets just take one quick way to analyze things and operate from the assumption that QB is the most important position on the field.

Bolded below are the teams that will be replacing a starting QB in 2016 per this sites depth charts:

BGSU
Tulsa
@ Oklahoma
BYE
Rutgers
Indiana
@ Wisconsin

@ PSU
Northwestern
Nebraska

@ Maryland
@ Michigan State
TTUN

Italics = better (for OSU) they aren't replacing the returning QB because he unequivocally blows.

I don't see why so many people are expecting a down year next year?

We return JT, Samuel, Marshall, Dontre, Campbell, BROWN at WR. Not to mention the unproven guys and in coming recruits in Gibson, Mack, Stump and hopefully victor.

Running back there's no doubt we miss zeke. However we will return Dunn and will finally get a look at Weber who we heard a ton from before he got hurt. Also if Samuel transitions to RB look out (particularly if he adds another 5-10 pounds).

Upfront you have to be at least excited for the potential. We will return the two gourds in Price and eflien but now the young guys really will be pushed to the forefront. I believe the two tackles in Jones and Prince will be fine..

Defense I'm expecting the worst scenario. At worse we return one starter up front but will be plugging in Hubbard who played a ton this yeat. At DT is where the real question is and if we finish strong in recruiting maybe we need a young guy to step up. Watch Landers next year.

Linebacker I'm actually not concerned. Will have McMillan returning, Booker (who played a ton), and either Worley (who's played a ton as well) or one of the freshman from this year.

Secondary we will return 3 of the 4 IMO. Apple, Conley and Tyvis all have no reason to leave. Not to mention all the kids we get back from injury like Burrows and Smith who IMO can fill in for Bell if he chooses to leave.

Bottom line I don't see a big ten team with that talent. Oklahoma no doubt we should be under dogs against but otherwise I like our chances and it's a good schedule for us if we happen to run the table.

That's not even including if players like Bell, Lee and maybe Thomas stay which can happen. Also with JT getting all the reps (maybe with a new coordinator) and you will see maybe a more balanced attack next year due to not having zeke to lean on.

4 loses though? That's crazy.

Wisconsin won't have a throw game, PSU will have a good running back but what else (not to mention losing the defense front)? Nebraska may be a tough game because they return a good bit but it'll be home and most likely at night. MSU loses KEY peices everywhere, and scUM won't have a QB.

All the typical powers next year will be down from looking at what they have coming back besides Nebraska.

I don't know... Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Northwestern from the West is just a gauntlet. Kinda funny that Northwestern might actually be the best team there, considering the other 2 don't have a coach. Actually, looking forward to seeing Corn again. Haven't played much since they joined.
So yea, 3 seems a bit much, maybe 2?

@OU should be a huge national matchup given they're a lock for CFP this year. I wonder how much they return? We've got 2 games to prepare and then a bye before the obligatory preseason B1G game.
