OK, played the tutorial. A little too simplistic. Not a big deal.

Anyway, for the BP multiplayer region, there are a few different regions. The max towns in one region is 16, and I think you can control more than 1. There are only a handful of regions. Check them out and see if there is one you would prefer. I don't really have any preference.

There is lots of complaints on Amazon about codes not working and Origin being down

Not surprised.

I'm still waiting to hear how things go - thanks for posting here everyone.

As I already mentioned, I don't have huge swaths of time to devote to gaming and would pretty much play single-player. Just curious to read about people's experiences in the early stages of this game...

Got to play some from the start (although not sandbox, so there were goals). Pretty easy to get to 15,000 citizens, and pretty fun. The "cities" are really small though. Even at 15,000 citizens I had almost 3/4 of the map full. Almost all my stuff was low density, so eventually the game becomes a challenge of increasing density of your squares instead of just building more.

I did have a crash which sucked. I was also playing on Europe West since that was the only one open at the time. They just opened up a new US East server, and went on there. Yet my cities from the other server don't show up. That is pretty stupid. Oh well, no big loss. It was more of a trial city anyway.

So far it's fun, but I can see city size being a real big issue. I felt like I was just getting started and I already had 3/4 of my city mapped out. Maybe it will get better and be a different challenge, but I certainly would like a bigger map as an option.

What server should we be on for BP-connected worlds? North America East?

Q:How to Choose a SimCity Server:
A: You can select and change servers from our Launcher. Click on the ?Select Server? button in the bottom left corner and you will be presented with a list of options. Our servers are not geographically locked so you can play on any server you?d like from anywhere in the world. Every server provides the same content, however, it should be noted that your saves are unique to that server and they will not migrate to other servers. If you want to play with your friends, you will need to be on the same server as them. You are not limited to the amount of servers you can play on, so feel free to jump around and see the different types of players on each of these servers. And even if your friend is on a server marked busy or full , you can both jump on any other available server right away and start playing together. Your gameplay and performance won?t be affected at all.

I am on North America East #2. The other 2 NA servers are always busy.

I just got an error for the 2nd time, which sucks because it reverts you to a past state and I lost a bunch of stuff. 1 error was a problem with computations (I assume on the server end). Yeah, I was afraid of this stuff. Oh well, my city is becoming a mess anyway. I started out well planned and very symmetrical and planned out. Yeah, with new city needs that is being thrown out the window. It also sucks that I put my town hall in the middle of my town inside it's own little circle. Little did I know there are departments that need to be added to the town hall. Well, they don't all fit in that little circle I created and they must be attached to the town hall. Yeah, not good.

Password issues, password reset issues, server queue issues, stuck tutorial issues, city claim issues... awesome.

I really hope the actual buildings aren't as generic as the tutorial - "Small Business" - "Inexpensive Theater" - seriously? What happened to the clever or silly place names?
