still no mac version?

If you buy the PC version, you get the Mac version too on Origin. I know this is confirmed if you buy through Origin, but I don't see how it will differentiate if you buy through another source since they all go through Origin anyway. All my PC games I have through Origin (and Steam for that matter) also include the Mac version.

You can do like me. I have a Mac laptop, but I am dual booting for SimCity if I want to play on my laptop. It's really easy to install Windows 7 through boot camp. All you need is a disc or a usb stick (that is what I used), download Windows .iso online, and then boot camp does the rest. You don't even need to buy a copy if Windows 7. It's free for 30 days, and even after that you only miss out on some features but it will still work for games.

If you plan to that, hit me up. There are a couple of things that aren't spelled out and the driver download portion sometimes times out (I ended up installing Windows and downloading the drivers separately). You will need the drivers since Windows will not automatically recognize some Mac stuff, most importantly it did not auto recognize my wireless card.

Anyone playing it yet? Amazon is sending it to my old address even though i updated the order a few weeks ago.

I am downloading right now, but I am leaving soon. It should take me around 6 hours to download anyway.

I actually tried to download last night, but it kept giving me a VC++ error for some reason (I was not the only one). That at least appears to be cleared up.

It will be through Origin. The Mac version is not available yet, but as I mentioned, the Mac and PC versions are the same. If you buy one, you get the other.

So are you saying that if I download the PC version now I'll be able to play it on my Mac as soon as it's done downloading, or that I'll have to wait until the Mac version actually comes out, but I won't have to go through another long download process?

I don't want to buy it unless I am absolutely positive that I'll be able to play it on my Mac.

If you buy the PC version, you will get the Mac version when it comes out. I meant when you buy either the PC or the Mac version, you get both (so the purchase is the same) but you won't be able to play on a Mac operating system until that is released. Sorry, I should have worded that better. If you want to play it now on your Mac you will need to dual boot with Windows (which is what I am doing with my Mac).

Just stating that if you buy the PC version you won't need to buy the Mac version when it comes out. Mac and PC versions will also interact online and any city you made through a PC version will be playable on your Mac and vice versa. So you can buy the PC version now and play it through Windows on your Mac, and when the Mac version is released you can download that for free on your Mac OS and pick up where you left off on the PC version. Just stating a way you can play now on your Mac and it won't cost anything extra. It just will require you to add Windows to your machine right now (which can legally be done for free and it's pretty easy).

Ok, thanks for the clarification.

After reading some less than promising reviews, I may hold off on this to see if they pull some stunts I'm expecting since this is going through EA. It sounds like this game was set up with the intent of adding major infrastructure upgrades through DLC (subways and other similar things are surprisingly absent), as well as things like larger city plots. If that starts to be the case, I will be waiting for it to drop in price so that I'm not paying $100+ after DLC updates. I like the game, but I don't like it that much. I'll stick with SC4 until then.
