The last two close games though have fueled a bit of reckless optimism on their part. What's needed now are complete dick-slappings by OU and TCU. That will send the plane right into the side of the mountain. The next two weeks will tell whether they've actually improved or they're just latching onto a couple of close losses at home to a couple of mediocre teams.

Someone should send Charlie a catalog for asbestos pants from Duluth before he takes the 'horns to TCU.

Wonder if this incident came about from sideline infractions. refs usually warn a couple of times before throwing the flag, but they have to work in a tight area, focus on the play and keep their feet free. Coaches and players who feel they're not getting calls that day can become a nuisance and some of it is deliberate, but doesn't look deliberate unless you've been following the action along the sidelines.

They were babbling about the ref being racist because he was scared of the big black man yelling at him. If Strong crossed a line verbally, the ref should have just pulled the flag and not let his emotions get the best of him. In his defense, you can't see if he trips over a chord, and it does look like he could be trying to move over to avoid the guy in the black shirt while Strong holds his ground.

In any event, I'm just enjoying my meltdown.
