heck, i think ho1tmann would have expanded muhammad's role even if his offense didn't improve but his decision-making did. however, muhammad too often ran into a building on fire without knowing where the exits were. felt like pulling my hair out whenever he'd go behind-the-back and between-the-legs straight into congestion without a plan.

i'm still very happy that muhammad committed to ohio state. even knowing what we know now, i'd still take his commitment. muhammad choosing osu was a much-needed stamp of approval.

i just hope ho1tmann learned a little something by signing a "jelly fam" player. no surprise that muhammad's high school teammate quinerly transferred out after his first season.

I have some mixed feelings on this, but mostly bummed. He was an excellent defender and while he definitely Exhibit A of our turnover issues and bad decisions, he had his moments on offense. Think he could have improved and had a big year for us next year, so I do see this as a "loss". Not all bad, but would have much preferred he stayed.

interesting quote from muhammad's high school coach:

“What will make me happy is if he finds what’s best for him,” Mariniello said. “He feels this if what’s best for him, then I have to support him whether I agree or disagree. It was an honor to coach him. In my 20-some years of doing this and having 45-some guys going to Division I, he is probably the hardest-working guy in practice every day. If he feels that making a change is best for him, then I have to support him. But I also have the upmost respect for his coach, the assistant coaches and the university because they treated him fairly and with honesty.”

There’s no way to make an honest comment without it sounding like sour grapes but, as others have posted I was always really nervous with the ball in his hands. Great defender for sure but man I’d cringe at some of his reckless out of control turn overs. And he was no stranger to the long cold streak shooting the ball either. He was just a very inconsistent player in all honesty.

Definitely hate to see him go though regardless. I had hopes he would eliminate some of those turnovers next year and get better at shooting the ball. If he wants to have more offensive impact he doesn’t have much on tape to show a new school how he deserves that. Maybe it’s just a different scheme / environment that will help him out. Who knows. I just don’t see a complete player at all. Good luck though Luther. Always a Buckeye.
