Dont think Sibert would transfer. Well I hope he does not trasnfer he is a great player.

I don't like to see a player leave the program, but I am not in the players shoes to understand why a decision like this is made.

Just for clarification, the assistant coach has formed the opinion for his own set of reasons. I wouldn't consider it a grudge.
But, like a lot of opinions, you can always find differing ones in the same group of people... I don't think it's anything underhanded (for the most part), just an opinion/reputation gained with one of the coaches that has and will likely hinder Jordan't playing time going forward at tOSU...

Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
I just feel that his decision whether to transfer or not shouldn't be based soley on playing time. I ass/u/me he came to Ohio State to play basketball and GET AN EDUCATION. He should realize that if he can't break into the starting lineup at Ohio State, just maybe he isn't good enough for the NBA, etc. He should ask himself: What school offers me the best opportunity for a degree that will help me after college?

I really don't believe that an assistant coach will do anything tangible to hold Jordan back in the future. I think "the ball" of prospective playing time in the regular rotation is in Jordan's "court." If he improves his shooting, he is in the regular rotation - simple as that. He shot 30% from the field last year, and 26% from 3 - that's a problem with the player, not the coach's fault. Nobody who's a shooting guard who's main job is to stretch the defense is going to play a lot when they're shooting 26% on 3s, at least not when they're on a great team. As I said before, I think him making the rotation for good is as simple as shooting better (i.e., something close to 40% on 3s rather than 26%). The only reason I see justifying him transferring is if he is convinced he can't shoot the ball at the level it takes to play at OSU. I feel he has a very reasonable chance of playing significant minutes for OSU in the future. If he thinks he can shoot better, and is willing to put in the work to make that improvement, he should stay. Somebody will need to step up their shooting to help replace Buford, and I think Jordan can do just that.

You totally misread that, so I'll explain a little better so you can understand my point of view. You are assuming that assistant coaches are only involved with the student-athletes on a basketball basis. A poor assumption to say the least. So on a personal basis a grudge could be formed. I would hope that would never be the case and if it were I would hope any head coach for the sake of the player/program/etc would terminate that asst coach or whomever.

Jordan is officially transferring. I'm disappointed. I thought he could contribute next season. I don't buy the assistant coach dispute thing as being a barrier to him playing - again, shooting 26% is a player problem, not a coach problem. I hoped he would stick with it and improve - he was on the cusp of being a regular all season this year but just shot his way out of it. I thought he could get better and play a regular role for OSU, but what can you do? As Bo Ryan would say, violence is out of the question :)

I'm bummed Sibert is leaving...I thought he would turn it around and have a year like Smith Jr. did honestly. At least he is going to UD.

If you're committed to a guy, you let him play through it and give him the opportunities. The staff however did not, they went with Thompson. It's not like Sam Thompson ever came in and lit it up offensively to keep Jordan on the bench. He averaged just 2 attempts a game (shot 49% on mostly dunks), shot 7% from 3 and 55% from the line
