Coach Thad Matta's preference for recruiting winners helped him add another one to the Ohio State men's basketball program. Jordan Sibert, a junior guard from Cincinnati Princeton who played for the All-Ohio Red team that won the AAU 16-and-under national championship in July, made a commitment to Matta while attending the OSU football game Saturday in Ohio Stadium.
He said he chose the Buckeyes over Xavier and West Virginia.
"I realized that Ohio State was what I wanted," Sibert said yesterday. "I wanted to go somewhere away from home, but I was still at home. It's not too far. It's a perfect fit. I'm an hour and 30 minutes from my house and I know a lot of people up there. And outside of basketball, it's a great school academically."
