SG Jordan Sibert (Atlanta Hawks)

Wow, that is pretty stout. Lewis was an extremely good athlete, if Sibert is more athletic than RL, that is saying a lot. It's also great to hear that he has a pretty good all around game, Lewis was more of a small forward in a guards body coming out of HS, if I remember correctly, decent handle, decent outside touch, pretty good taking it to the hole, he sure turned out ok.

Either way, you have to love the potential of the incoming class.
lewis played on an absolutely loaded brookhaven roster. raheem moss, andrew lavender, brandon fousts, etc.

I remember, at the time, I expected/wanted tOSU to go hard after Lavender, though undersized, he epitomized point guard, at least at the HS level.

I've only seen Sibert once, on tv, last years Div 1 championship game vs. Northland, he seemed to have a nice game. Pretty solid mid-range game with a nice stroke, though inconsistent, from deep. I also remember him almost singlehandedly leading his team back into the game.

Posted by tgroeschen March 18th, 2010

Gatorade, in conjunction with ESPN RISE, today announced Princeton senior Jordan Sibert as Gatorade Ohio boys basketball player of the year.

The 6-4 Sibert, who has signed with Ohio State, led Princeton to a 19-5 record and Division I regional semifinal appearance. Sibert averaged 18.7 points per game and also was named Associated Press Southwest District Division I player of the year.

The award recognizes excellence on and off the basketball court. Sibert has maintained a B average in the classroom and is an active member of his church community. He also has volunteered as a peer mentor at his school, and as a summer camp counselor and youth basketball coach.

If his first game in a scarlet jersey with the letters O-H-I-O stenciled across the front was any indication, Jordan Sibert is going to do well at Ohio State.

The Princeton senior on Saturday night led Ohio to a 92-84 victory in the Ohio-Kentucky All-Star game at Thomas More's Connor Convocation Center. The game completed a two-game sweep for the Buckeye state.

"It was kind of nice," said Sibert, who scored a game-high 17 points. "It was like a little warm-up for me before going (to Ohio State). It feels good. I'm getting ready for it."

Ohio jumped to a 14-4 lead to start the game. Sibert had two dunks during the spurt, both on assists from future Ohio State teammate Aaron Craft of Liberty Benton.

"He did a great job looking out for me," said Sibert. "We all did a great job coming together as a team and we came out with the victory."

Princeton's Jordan Sibert is the Enquirer boys' basketball player of the year.

Competitiveness and work ethic are the common denominators that define the Enquirer boys' and girls' basketball players of the year, Princeton guard Jordan Sibert and Colerain guard Ashley Wanninger.

Sibert, who has signed with Ohio State, averaged 18.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.0 assists during his senior season. He was Associated Press first-team all-state and the Southwest District player of the year.

"The one lasting thing that I will remember about Jordan is he and his brother in the gym working out at 5:45 a.m. and getting up 500 to 800 shots before school began," Vikings coach Josh Andrews said.

While Sibert will no doubt have to get bigger and stronger to compete on a daily basis in the Big Ten as a freshman, he feels that he did pretty good in open gym against his older counterparts.

"It was challenging," Sibert said of the open gym. "I realized a lot of things about me. I saw what things I have to work on skill wise, but for the most part it was good. I feel I handled myself well, and I was happy with how I played."

Having committed to Ohio State as a junior, Sibert is very familiar with the place, and he feels the transition to the college level shouldn't be much of a problem.

"I just recently graduated," said Sibert. "The whole transition will be smooth. I just have to make sure my conditioning is right and my weight training is together. I don't see any down points in this whole transition and it should be smooth."

Part of that transition will be to compete on a daily basis for playing time. With the departure of Evan Turner to the NBA, Sibert knows minutes are available and he plans on getting them.

"It is going to be challenging every day in practice," said Sibert. "We all know each other and we are all competitors. At the end of the day I know there is an opportunity to play and I plan to take it. There are no hard feelings at all, and we all love each other, but I am going to work as hard as I can to get as many minutes as I can."

In preparation for the early minutes, Sibert has been working hard on his game. "Pretty much I have been working on my ball handling and my mid-range shot. I think a lot of people are going to be in for a surprise when they see how well I am handling the ball and how I set up my teammates. I have been working on that and my mid-range since I don't like settling for threes anymore."

Sibert summed things up by simply saying, "I think people will be shocked when they see how my game is developing."

Im already on the wagon im predicting a brian brown like freshman year contribution.
Maybe in blowouts but I don't see him making a big contribution this year with all of the wing players that we have on the roster and the way that Matta tends to use the bench.
