they didn't say his name (sounded like it was illegal to do so), but Musberger gave his 77 pt performance some love on national tv during the buckeye game.

Baskets here, free throws there and a bunch of 3-pointers from anywhere.
Several players in the newly-formed Portage Trail Conference were part of a statewide scoring binge last week.
Although it was not an area story, it would be unfair to start anywhere other than Upper Sandusky and forward Jon Diebler. The 6-6 junior, who helped eliminate St. Vincent-St. Mary in last year's regionals and played a key role in the school's drive to the Division II state title, scored 77 points during a 105-100 overtime victory over Tiffin Columbian. More about that later.
Already committed to Ohio State, Diebler made 22-of-42 field goal attempts - including six 3-pointers - and was 27-of-28 at the free throw line. Four of his 3-pointers came in a span of 56 seconds in the third quarter.
The 77 points are the seventh-highest total in Ohio history according to the OHSAA and are believed to be the most points scored in the state in the last 37 years. Bellaire St. John's Allan Hornyak, who went on to star at OSU, scored 86 points against Tiltonsville in 1969.
is that a comparison to the bellaire bomber? The 77 points are the seventh-highest total in Ohio history according to the OHSAA and are believed to be the most points scored in the state in the last 37 years. Hopefully he's a taller version of Jay Burson.
One of my all-time favorite Buckeyes. Lets hope Diebler has the same type of career Burson had, minus the halo.
That guy was amazing, would have loved to seen him in the NBA had he not had the next injury. Now Kevin Martin is the only guy from that area in the NBA.
