SG Jon Diebler (2nd-Most Big Ten career 3-Pointers, Butler Recruiting Director)

To recap, he basically just said he's very excited to play of tOSU next year. Says he was sitting with Kosta, BJ Mullens, and a few other recruits and they were all thinking that next year that will be them out on the floor in front of the fans.

He's very humble, he downplays the scoring title with his team's achievements every chance he gets. He'll be a great Buckeye.

Basketball runs deep in Diebler family
By MATTHEW HORN
Sports Writer

The Diebler clan is a basketball family if ever there was one. But last week was a whirlwind even for them.
Jon Diebler became the all-time leading scorer in Ohio history. Something, however, was missing.
"The one thing I wish is that (my grandfather) could have been there," Diebler said. "He was listening on the radio. That was a joy for me to know that. He wasn't there in person, but he was there in spirit."

State's top scorer ready for next challenge
By MATTHEW HORN
Sports Writer

The situation is odd when a high school player feels relieved to surpass the most hallowed milestone pertaining to boys basketball in Ohio. But expectations of Upper Sandusky senior Jon Diebler are far from ordinary.

Diebler -- who will apply his craft at Ohio State next season -- moved ahead of Jay Burson as the state's all-time points getter with 2,960 in his final regular-season game on Friday. He is averaging a national best 42.7 points while shooting 47 percent from the field. "It was a relief," Diebler said. "The fans and my teammates can enjoy it. It's a huge relief for them because now we can focus strictly on what we have to do each game. All the credit goes to my teammates for not getting sidetracked. We kept our heads and handled it well."

Some quick math shows the following numbers. (note: I'm giving equal weight to all 4 years. Losing accuracy, yes... but I think the point is still valid).....

Points Per Game
24.3 - FR
26.3 - SO
35.5 - JR
42.7 - SR

The average of his averages is 32.2 points per game over a 4 year span.
High school plays 32 minute games
Diebler has averaged OVER one point per minute for his ENTIRE career!

Upper Sandusky cruises by Galion
By Larry Phillips
Telegraph-Forum staff

MANSFIELD -- Galion's basketball season was ended by Ohio's all-time scoring leader, and a band of aggressive Rams from Upper Sandusky on Friday night. Senior forward Jon Diebler scored 35 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, handed out five assists, picked off five steals, blocked four shots and spearheaded his team to a 97-56 pounding of the Tigers in the Division II sectional championship game at Mansfield Senior. The only thing Diebler didn't do was become the state's first 3,000-point career scorer. He's five points short -- meaning that milestone awaits Wednesday at 8 p.m. when Upper Sandusky meets Clyde in the Ashland University district tournament.

Clyde looks to upset Upper Sandusky
By KEVIN YANIK
Sports Writer

Only three teams -- St. Xavier, McClain and, most recently, Bellevue -- have found a way to beat Upper Sandusky this season. If Clyde wants to become the fourth to pull the upset Wednesday night in a Division II district semifinal at Ashland University, it can't focus solely on Rams senior Jon Diebler, the state's all-time leading scorer who's five points shy of 3,000 for his career.
