troy smith has a tremendous arm, no ones debating that.

the real concern for him is his ability to see the field with his height. a lot of plays were designed for him to roll out and see the field.
going with that i dont think the concern was as much with our OL as it was with the other teams DL and their height and ability to knock down passes

I think the same argument could be made for nearly every QB in the NFL. Most are only as good as their offensive line lets them be.
Maybe... but look at last year's draft. Obviously VY is a rare breed. However, Cutler was able to thrive without much talent up front at Vandy. Leinart however, had trouble when he faced heavy pressure.

I think Quinn has some great tools to work with, but I don't think the Raiders will look much different in 2006 if they draft him. If they are okay with a long term reconstruction, then it could eventually prove to be a solid pick.

I don't know about Oakland's personnel, but they were a pretty good defense this year. Rather than try to change a struggling offense, could they go the baltimore route? Trade down, snag peterson and an OL (maybe Brown will still be around)... and try to land an average veteran QB in the offseason?

That was nice by Leonard... I'm a big fan of him.

Leonard picks up 4th and 1 inside the 10. Next play Hunt takes it in almost untouched.
Troy Smith was QB for the drive. Went like 1-3 with a nice 3rd and 10 completion.

Leak looked terrible that drive.

With or without my scarlet colored glasses.

IMO, Leak has looked terrible all week. He was taking 9 and 12 step drops, running from his own DL with the orange shirt on.

Nice throw and catch by Troy and McKnight... he's got an arm, that's for sure.

Troy throws a couple of balls short... he really does look rusty.

Going for it on 4th and 7, he scrambles out of another sack, throws short to Leonard who makes a cut and gets the first.

Troy just hasn't looked the same since scUM. It doesn't matter and we may still have lost but I sure would've liked to play Florida the day of the SEC title game, 2 weeks after scUM.
