Yes, but financial interest only play a very small part. SHEESH! It’s not like those networks (with a small financial interest mind you) have some type of exclusive broadcast/programming rights to any particularly important games, like say Division 1 college football playoff games.

Come on guys, it’s really not a big deal.

We had originally scheduled San Jose State that day. I’m assuming the neutral site sponsor will be contributing to the buy out.

    No Trevor Lawrence though...

Hopefully they get back to the Clemson we know and love.

    Agreed 100%
This is all Kirby’s doing. He believes (correctly or perhaps foolishly), the committee 100% rewards programs the challenge themselves.

I'm still irritated that it's taking so long for the Dawgs and Buckeyes to get a game.

The two programs' only meeting to date was in the January '93 Orange Bowl, where the Kirk Herbstreit-led Buckeyes failed to deliver victory against the 9th ranked Bulldogs. This was OSU's next game after Gordon Gee's infamous "This tie is one of our greatest wins ever" comment.

Lookit, there were citrus fruits, bowls, and a quarterback with 5 career touchdown passes involved. If you want to get into the weeds deeper than that, I can't help you.

It was indeed the citrus bowl. Garrison Hearst was Jawja's workhorse then. He ran for over a buck fifty and two scores.

Robert Smith played well for the Buckeyes that day. Herbie sucked.
