Can I park and tailgate at St. John's without a pass? If not, is it possible to still get one and where?

Thanks.

Actually, I think my parents parked @ the St. John lot a couple years ago because my Mom was on crutches and our Family doctor gave her a 6 month handicap parking placard (or whatever the rearview mirror hangy thing is).

Do you have anyone semi-injured going with you? or know a doctor friend who can "hook you up"? :tongue2:

I'm no parking expert, but I'm pretty sure my parents paid $10 bucks and had their ADA pass in the car and they were allowed to park there. Scooter...?

^^ This is correct. If you have a placard or handicapped plates you can park at St. Johns for $10. My father and I parked there for the Akron game using his placard. They did not check any drivers licenses. They just waved us in. There were good spots available @ 9 am. But, with aforementioned #1 status and homecoming get there early. And yes I believe there were people abusing this.

  1. The name of the arena is not in the possessive form.
  2. no to both questions

And what time to get there for the 3:30 p.m. game v. MSU????

First post...very excited... miss OSU!!!

Re: Best DoG lot w/ alcohol:
Depends on how much alcohol you're bringing.
  • A 6-pack: Scooter's lot if you're in an RV; polo fields if you're in a time machine
  • A keg: Publix grocery store parking lot on Thomasville Rd. (Tallahassee, FL) Call me when you get there...

I'm flying in from Dallas on Friday and my local friends and I will be down there by 6am. Going to set up a tailgate tent/tv/generator/etc. Anyone have a recommendation on the best place to do that?

Are you new? Alcohol? At Ohio State? Are you kidding? Mrs. Holbrook may just drive here personally to scold you and break up your little drunken orgy.

What nerve. Alcohol at Ohio State. Harummph!!!

Need more info.

What are you driving? Are you actually going to the game? Anyone too old to walk a great distance? Does your generator suck and put off lots of fumes?

Okay all. Its that time of year again to start discussing the do's, don'ts, where's, when's, and how's of Football parking for the 2008 campaign.

For the most part, parking this year will remain unchanged from last year, unless of course you are HAYN, Todd, Underdog44 and the rest of my RV parking gang.

Here is a link to T&P's football parking page for this season.

The key change for this year is the lack of day-of-game tickets for RV's. All RV passes will be presold this year, starting 10 days ago through the ticket office.

RV Parking for the 2008 Football Season

For the 2008 OSU Football season, all RV parking will be pre-sold. The sale for RV parking will be held on July 21, 2008 and will be conducted through the Athletic Ticket Office. Thank you for your patience as we move forward with this new program. For more information, please see RV Parking for the 2008 Football Season.

No panic among us though as we will figure it out this year. Next year will be even bigger crap to deal with, and may mean the end of me working the RV lot at Ohio State, simply out of principle. The money grubbing is out of hand.

If you have questions or comments, please fire away here in the thread so everyone can see them and I won't have to answer the same questions over and over.

GO BUCKS!!!

BuckeyeXtra - The Columbus Dispatch : RVs can reserve parking for OSU football games

Ohio State football fans who park their RVs on campus for Game Day will have to reserve a space this year for the first time.
In the past, campers lined up as early as 5 a.m. to procure a spot on a campus lot.
All the spaces are sold for games against Penn State and Michigan, but many remain for the Buckeyes' other five home games, said Kevin Gorham, director of ticket finance.
There are 141 spaces available for individual games at $90 each. The spots are at the corner of Fred Taylor Drive and Ackerman Road.
RV spots for season-ticket holders cost $630 for seven home games. This lot has about 110 spots.
Last year, season passes cost $280 and individual game passes cost $50, Gorham said.
Parking spots, which have been on sale since July 21, can be reserved only through the Athletic Department's Web site, www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com.

Game Parking Questions

We were able to get 8 tickets in Sec. 8C for the Troy game, with my bother, sister, our spouses and our parents going to the game. It will be the first time that our parents and my sister-in-law will be able to go to a game. My wife has a nasty foot injury and, while she claims it's not gonna keep her from going, I would like to reduce the distance she has to walk. Of course, a shorter distance would be nice for our parents too.

So, my questions are:

(a) Is there someplace close to St. John (for the Skull Session) that I can drop everyone off and, if so, how can I get to it (we're staying in Dublin Friday night)?

(b) Does anyone ever sell a parking pass for one of the stadium lots and, if so, where? I've never seen anybody sell one here or on Ebay and could not find anything on the OSU site, although maybe I was not on right page.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I would suggest dropping them off somewhere on Lane Ave... it's about 200yds from the shoe, and although it can get crowded, and traffic could be bad depending on the time... it's probably the closest to the stadium you can get to drop someone off. It's located just north of the Shoe.

Also in a parking lot farther to the west accross HWY 315, there is parking lots for about 10 bucks that have shuttle busses that get you pretty close. You just have to walk across the bridge over the Olentangy River. I used that last year sometimes, never tried it this year yet though.

Hope that helps a little.
